General Questions
What is the Poker Tutor?
The Poker Tutor is a revolutionary interactive online tool to help poker
players improve their game. With the Poker Tutor players can watch as pros play
real hands and comment on the action as it progresses. The poker pros provide
lessons that players can view through any browser.
How much does it cost?
Once you are a member of the Poker Tutor, you can purchase individual lessons
for a set price for each lesson. Typical prices for lessons are $4.95.
You can also purchase packages and receive the lessons as a discounted price.
What type of payments do you accept?
Poker tutor accepts all major credit cards.
What are packages?
Packages are groups of lessons purchased together at a discounted price. Typical
packages allow the customer to purchse 3 lessons at once.
How long are the lessons?
This depends on the type of lesson, whether it is a single table tournament, a
cash game, or a multi-table tournament. Each cash game lesson is typically
40-60 selected hands that the pro has played. Viewing an entire lesson normally
takes about 2 hours to study carefully. You can view the lessons that you have
purchased any time.
Can my friends view the lessons I have purchased?
No. The Poker Tutor is intended for individuals, not groups. Each lesson is
viewable only from a maximum of two individual computers and only for a set
number of views. Sharing your login information will result in your account
being automatically locked from access.
Who are the teachers?
You can view a complete list of the teachers on the teachers
page.
Using the Poker Tutor
How do I view the lessons I bought?
You may click on the “Play Lessons” button on the left of the page once you
have logged in. The Poker Tutor will launch in a new window and you will see
the list of lessons you have available. Click “Play” next to your desired
lesson.
What does the “Show all hole cards” button do?
This button will turn all cards face up as the hand plays, but only for certain
hands. Most hands do not have this feature.
How do I skip to the next hand?
You can either click the >> button or you can use the drop down menu in
the upper left.
How do I control the speed of the Poker Tutor?
You can use the slider bar at the bottom of the screen to speed up or slow down
the speed of play.
Troubleshooting
The Poker Tutor is not launching for me.
The Poker Tutor launches in a new browser window. You may need to disable any
pop up blockers you have on your computer.
The Poker Tutor does not show all of the action.
Occasionally when you advance to the next hand before the previous hand has
finished playing, you will miss part of the action. Simply go back to the
previous hand and then forward again to reload the hand.
I cannot input my own hands.
Currently the Poker Tutor only supports hand history files from Party Poker and
skins. You will need to use the hand histories that are emailed to you and not
the hand histories that you retrieve from your computer or from the hand
history window.
My Omaha hands do not display properly.
Currently the Poker Tutor supports only Texas Hold’em games. However, if you
input your own Omaha hands it will work… just not very well.
