PDC Poker Bonus & Review Guide

Poker.com has changed it's name to Carbon Poker. Although players with existing accounts will continue to play through their Poker.com accounts, all new members will be directed to Carbon Poker. There is no difference between the two sites except the names. Players will find all their favorite game and tournaments whether they are playing through Poker.com or Carbon Poker.

Poker.com accepts players from the United States.

Poker.com is a young site, even by online poker standards, but has managed to grow from a small site into a medium-sized site in 16 months. Credited for this is excellent customer service, great tournament overlays, a large variety of freerolls and good software. There are a few downsides, but as they continue to update and enhance their pokersite, look for Poker.com to address these issues in the future.

Poker.com is one of the new breed of pokersites to burst upon the online poker scene offering players it’s own take of what a well-run pokersite should be. Offering good software with a variety of features that differentiate itself from the cookie-cutter poker sites or the many skins who share the same tables and players, Poker.com has it's own proprietary software that it shares with no one. This adds to the sense of community, and players tend to foster a long-term relationship with Poker.com. Offering it's players a variety of playing options, Poker.com is striving to make it's mark on the online poker industry. Poker.com is offering ITH members a 100% up to 5100 initial sign-up bonus.

    PDC Poker Software

Poker.com's software is unique and not shared by other online pokersites. There have been reports of slight bugs and occasional crashing.

Poker.com's main menu software is very fluid and easy to use. Players will be able to swiftly navigate between all functions and have many items at their fingertips. Utilizing average pot sizes and players seeing the flop information, players can easily navigate to the cash game tables they wish to play. The tournament and SnG screens can be filtered in a variety of fashions to enable the user to find just the right tournament for him/her.

The poker tables are standard green-felt representations with player placards representing the players. Players are free to choose from Poker.com's library of avatar icons, or may import their own icons as long as they are tasteful. Player accolades and status are shown on the right of the placard to denote what they have accomplished. The table is situated on a woodgrain floor. Players can utilize a four-color deck option, and the cardbacks are in purple.

Players have ample room to take notes on their fellow players and the notes have the "wrap-around" feature rather than an endless line format.. Also, there is a handy player "rating" feature that allows players to categorize fellow players.

Overall, the software and features at Poker.com are very user-friendly.

    PDC Poker Games

Poker.com offers Holdem Poker and Omaha. Players also have access to multi-table tournaments [MTTs], Sit and Gos [SnGs], and tournament satellites.

Players can play fixed limit holdem for stakes ranging from $0.10/$0.20 to $50/$100. However, traffic is only consistently found on stakes of $1/$2 and lower. Pot-limit holdem traffic is virtually non-existent, but games are offered from $0.05/$0.10 to $25/50. No-limit holdem is the main cash game attraction at Poker.com. Players can play at buy-ins ranging from NL4 to NL5000. Most of the traffic is situated on table buy-ins of NL400 and below. Fullring [10-player, or alternately, 9], 6-max and heads-up tables are all available. Omaha is offered in fixed limit, pot-limit and no-limit varieties. However, Omaha at Poker.com is offered only in the Omaha High variety. Omaha Poker is, unfortunately, not trafficked at Poker.com in it's cash game form.

MTTs are another area where Poker.com flourishes in player traffic. Offering many satellites, freerolls and guaranteed tournaments, players can find the action, buy-in and competition they are looking for. The tournaments are also the best place for players to find Omaha traffic.

SnGs are offered in buy-ins ranging from $2+$0.20 all the way to $500+$20. Most of the SnG traffic is found at the $20+$2 buy-ins and below. Players can select between fixed limit holdem, PL holdem, NL holdem or PL Omaha High. Poker.com does not offer multi-table SnGs, but does offer SnGs in fullring, 6-max and headsup varieties.

    Bounty Grand Master

Poker is a game with worldwide recognition and a massive field of elite players. Poker.com is now introducing a brand new ranking system, which gives players a credible reference on their overall skills. This is a long-term promotion which is available to every player and is fully automated for everyone to enjoy.

    The ELO System
The ELO rating system is a method of ranking players by assigning a base numerical score, and victories and losses in Bounty tournaments will adjust the score accordingly. This is a world-class official system used most frequently in Chess, and it is has also been adapted for other sports.

Poker.com's Bounty tournaments are great ways to track wins and losses of each player (either knocking out another player or being eliminated yourself). Using the ELO system, all Bounty players can track their success and score via Player Admin.

ELO rewards strong play against tough opponents, and penalizes bad play against weak opponents.

Players earn weekly and monthly cash prizes for their Leaderboard Results.

    Multiple Accounts per Household

Poker.com allows for multiple household accounts. They have the following criteria for this authorization:
    - Each player must have only one account.
    - Each player must fill out all personal details in their account.
    - Each player must have their own payment method attached to their account. No player is to share payment methods on their family members accounts.
    - Only one account on each IP address can enter a tournament at any time.

Each player is allowed their own bonuses, so each family member may take advantage of Poker.com's bonus programs and online store.

    Reload Bonus Frequency

Poker.com offers reload bonuses. The methods of their reloads are quite similar to Party Poker and Empire Poker. They offer generic reloads, where all depositors gain a percentage up to a maximum, like 50% up to $200. They also offer cash bonus reloads that go directly into the player's accounts and can be used. Players are restricted on cashout of the bonus until the comp point requirements are met. Players also need to complete their bonus terms prior to withdrawal or they will lose the remainder of their bonus.

    Tournaments with Overlays

A tournament overlay is the result of guaranteed prize money that is not offset by the participant's buy-ins. As such, all freerolls always offer an overlay.

Poker.com offers many guaranteed tournaments and is also a medium-sized site. As such, many of their guaranteed tournaments offer overlays, especially in the lower prizepool guaranteed tournaments. Poker.com can be a quite lucrative arena for a poker player who specializes in tournaments.

    Bonuses Cleared During Tournaments

Bonuses can be cleared by playing in tournaments and SnGs. However, there is no fixed comp point scheme for quickly figuring out how many comp points are earned per tournament/SnG buy-in. Players can learn how many comp points are awarded for tournament play by opening up the tournament or SnG tournament screen and noting the number of points awarded. Although not precise, Poker.com's initial deposit bonus works out to about 40% with regard to tournament rakeback.

    Time Allowed to Clear Bonus

Players have as much time as they need to clear their bonus in it's entirety. There are, however, two stipulations. First, players will lose any remaining uncleared bonus when they make a withdrawal. Second, players need to play at least once every 30 days to keep their bonus active.

Piscivorous Discretionary Poker Room Bonus Rating

I was looking for a new site prior to the UIGEA, and decided to give Poker.com a try. As an ardent bonus chaser, I disliked the initial deposit bonus which cleared poorly even when I could find a fixed limit table of $1/$2 or higher. At the $1/$2 limit, players will be clearing this bonus as if it were a 50x bonus. Couple this with the 30 day clearance window, and Poker.com will require the most steadfast bonus chaser or the bonus will not clear in it's entirety. Poker.com is more of a NL site than fixed limit, and players can find tables as high as NL200 on a consistent basis. Tournament players will like Poker.com both for the overlays and also the incredibly lucrative freerolls provided by playing cash games and tournaments. I like Poker.com both because of the tournaments and the fact that the site is averaging 4-8,000 players, but isn't overrun by too much traffic that the games and tournaments become much tougher.
