The World Poker Tour keeps growing and the Internet is riding the wave
The World Poker Tour keeps growing and the Internet is riding the wave. PokerStars has just announced their inaugural PokerStars Caribbean Adventure as part of the World Poker Tour. The event will be held aboard a cruise January 18th to 25th. A $1.0 million prize package is guaranteed. The World Poker Tour is shown on the Travel Channel. Players can qualify online through cash satellites or Frequent Player Point (FPP’s) satellites. The first major cash satellite is October 18th for $650 and the first major FPP satellite is October 19th for 10,000 points. Smaller satellites start today for as low as $3 or 100 FPP’s that can win you a seat into these larger satellites. This is great news for online poker. The World Poker Tour is bringing many new players to the Internet and I expect next year to be a banner year. The power of television was demonstrated by PartyPoker’s tremendous growth in just a few short months which all started from their exposure on the Travel Channel. The great thing for us experienced players is that most of these players being introduced to the Internet are playing the game for the first time. This gives all of us some great opportunities to cash in while they are learning the game!
