Ha! Got your attention with the URL, LOL, I'm talking about the state. There is no such website, I checked first .
I will be in the Denver/Rocky Mountain area in mid August. What can you tell me about the poker scene there, especially Central City and Black Hawk, as those are closest to my destination (Winter Park)?
We will be there Thursday through Monday for a Saturday wedding, and if I can get away, I'd like to play some live poker. |

Toom......I think there is also something called the colorado gambling forum....something like that.....google it to find.
In addition to Mountain High and The Lodge, Colorado Central Station, The Gilpin, and Fortune Valley in Central City have poker rooms.
The Gilpin has gotten alot of positive comments over at 2+2....in addition to the 2-5 spread limit....they have a true 2-4 limit game. New room and supposed to be pretty nice. |

I just moved to Aurora recently and have only been able to make one trip to Black Hawk so far, but it was a positive experience. I don't care for the 2-5 spread structure but I made the best of it. The best part of the trip was beating the hell out of the "gambler". This guy was wearing a big gold chain with a $ on it and lots of gold rings with more $'s on them.....honestly this guy was a joke. I think he was trying really hard to look like a pro gambler. Anyways he was playing every single hand and would snap his teeth and mumble to himself after everytime he lost. My favorite hand was when I RR him preflop with QQ and hit my set. He continued to bet on the turn and river which of course I RR. I really thought he was gonna cry when he called and turned over pocket 9s . Good times. |

There's a yahoo poker group as well, I think it's called Denver Poker but I'm not sure.. Gilpin is nice, but it really wasn't that busy when I went last weekend. My vote goes to Mountain High and the Lodge.
There is also a 5/5 game which can be interesting. Hope you enjoy the smell of smoke. |

This was replied in another thread where I accidentally double posted.

Both have Texas Holdem, 7 card stud and Omaha. Regular and split games.
The problem with Colorado poker is that it is a limit bet state. No bets over $5.
So I have seen spread 2/4, and 5/5.
Central City are actually the tougher games as the ones who play there are mostly regulars.
I have found the games easier to beat in BlackHawk.
Hope this helps |
Yes it does, thanky. |
