| Berbatov is "technically better than Cantona". He's also "as talented as van Basten", apparently. |

Hmmm,
There is a bot at Betfair pumping in bets at 1.2 that Berbatov will stay with Tottenham
Is there any way I can go wrong taking that bet (picked it up twice already) ?

Berbatov is a class act .. he will give United something we dont have and thats a creative edge to unlock teams when they put 11 men behind the ball ..
He has the eye to find that killer pass further up the field where it will hurt the opponents ... we have enough runners off the ball, so he wont be short on options ..
Im not 100% behing the idea of signing Berbatov ... i wanted Benzema who i think will be at the top of the tree in 2 - 3 years time and we would do well to get him now .... and possibly £28m for Berbatov is way too much ..
I am not worried about Chelsea all that much TBH ... hopefulyl they will play a more attacking game this season .. but as of yet .. they have not purchased too much to be worried about ..
Granted.. that might change with the possibility of some huge signings still to come ... then i might be more worried ..
I still think Chelsea need a top striker ... Drogba is just a walking chip on a shoulder and although he has his moments ... I rate other strikers more highly ..
If Berbatov follows Keane out of Spurs ... what about Darren Bent for the fantasy footie league .... surely worth the risk after his pre season .. |

United are running out of time to sign him ..I think Spurs will try and take United to the cleaners knowing United might get desperate ..
It would not surprise me if United pulled the plug at the last minute . |

| I saw that article earlier on today. Where do these predictions come from? How can he be 'convinced' of this when Scolari is untested in the EPL. I didn't get much past the first paragraph. |

It's not about us, it's about you. But for Ronaldo we would have been out of sight last season. I'm not quite as willing as some to dismiss the possibility he could do it again, but (especially with the injury) it's hard to see him nearly having as much of an effect.
If we perform at or above the same level as last season (and little reason personnel-wise to think not, plenty of factors to suggest we might) then unless you raise your game quite a bit, you are going to be some way behind come the end of the season. |

By the above I assume you're talking about the wimpy "sport" of soccer? (ducks and runs for cover) |

Ooof .. this thread is gathering pace quicker than i anticipated !
With the squad you have right now .. i see no reason why you will perform that much better than last season ... your additions so far ar nothing special and the age of your team would suggest you are more likely to decline if anything ..
As for United ... we have a younger squad and confidence is sky high ... i reckon quite a few of our younger players will improve from last season and the possible addition of Berbatov by the weekend should improve the attacking options that much further ..
Our defence is rock solid .. but i think its our midfield that will perform much better this season ...
Basically .. unless Chelsea purchase a couple of crackers pretty soon ... i think we will have an edge over them this season . |

Im expecting a few comments like this ... and to be fair ... they are welcomed ...
Obviously . .if they persist ... then running for cover is a viable option .. |
