There is a team in Nashville that matches up fairly well with at least 2 of those. Wink

As much of a diehard Redskins fan that I am and always will be, I don't think that I can claim that they are in the top 4 of the NFL this year. They are playing fairly well right now, but not on a calibur of that level.

You could make a case, but it's a stretch. I think the Titans belong in the list though. Problem is I'm not sure which NFC East team I'd drop. Probably the Eagles, especially the way things went last night..

A clearer picture should emerge in about 2 or 3 weeks. But the NFC Beast is in full force this season. There will be NO gimme games in this division. To win in this division you'll have to kick and scratch your way to the top.

I do think that the Giants have a very good chance of winning this division, probably with about 13 wins.

Agree with the bottom 2. I love Buffalo's turnaround but they need to beat someone good first.

TEN: I still don't know about em. That def is scary but their QB situation worries me.

I think Buffalo is the class of the AFC East, but I don't see them in the top 4. They really struggled to beat Oakland and Oakland are terribad.

I'm a dedicated Redskins hater, but you have to give them credit for playing some tough games already. They beat Dallas on the road, Arizona and New Orleans and played the Giants close on the road. If they go into Philly and beat them, I'll be convinced they have a legit shot.

I would have put Pittsburgh up there until they lost to the Eagles. I would have put the Eagles up there until they lost to the Bears. I would have said Denver until they got embarrassed by the Chiefs.

I'm honestly not sure who to fill out the list with. Tampa Bay, maybe? Carolina? Baltimore if they handle Pittsburgh?

My sneaking suspicion is that some teams that look bad now will charge up the standings before it is all over. The Chargers, Colts and Saints will probably all be there in the end.

I guess I'd have to go with:

1. Giants
2. Cowboys
3. Titans
4. Redskins

I'm not sold on Ten either, but if they handle Baltimore next week, they will be unbeaten heading into the bye week having beaten two of their three division rivals.

Still, if you wanted to put anyone from the NFC East into another division (Eagles or Redskins, I guess) I suspect they would be serious contenders if not outright favorites.

I think I agree with 1-3. Number 4 starts to get iffy. Redskins can make a case. Other possibilities: Saints, Chargers, Bills, winner of Ravens/Steelers

I think the Saints and Chargers will ultimately win their divisions. I do think Titans are for real and would probably rank them ahead of the Cowboys. But as I said, we should have a better picture in 2 or 3 weeks

Colts may have too big a hole to climb out of by the time they get healthy. But I wouldn't count them out just yet..

Personally I'm not sold on any teams right now. This time last year you had the Pats and the Colts who were clearly a class above everybody else. This year I see a lot of mediocrity.

This is clearly true. Even the teams that get named by everyone here have a lot of question marks. For instance, the Giants lost the key personnel that made them good last year and although they are 3-0 at the moment, they won a narrow battle with the Redskins and the Bengals took them to overtime. The Bengals appear to be a very bad team this year.

There is certainly no team that is clearly head and shoulders above the pack like the Pats were last year.

A narrow battle with the Redskins?????

Redskins were completely outclassed in that game. Redskins looked so bad I wanted the Lions to play them.

But Redskins got better quick.

It's still early but week 4/5 starts to settle down to this years permanent trends.

Despite their apparent domination, they only managed to win by 9 and couldn't score in the second half. It certainly wasn't a blow-out. However, the Redskins offense was terrible. Hard to believe it is the same team that beat the Cowboys.

Maybe I'm changing my vote to something more like Pie. There aren't four good teams yet.

But the title of the thread is the four best teams. Certainly that could be determined (or at least debated) until 4 good teams emerge?
