I know that sounds like a crazy statement. Its not its just how confident I am in my future as a poker player!
So if I got your interest then stick around as this will be an up to date Blog that will keep me focused.
I am always open for suggestions and look forward to getting to know you all better.
I was going to start this last week but have been busy with my family so I got some catching up to do.
In my next post I will tell you about myself and how I got to this point..
The following post will be a list of my monthly goals.
Followed by a list of my goals for the next 2 and a half years,
I tried making a long term goals list but all I could come up with was the next few years.
The main reason for this blog is to keep me on track of my goals and to keep me disciplined.
Those who fail to plan, plain to fail!
I do not want this to be me so some of this will be allot of detail.
I hope you all enjoy reading my Blog and are willing to give me encouragement and advice along my journey. |

PAST
I was born in Mcminville Oregon on July 21st 1980,
At the age of 5 my parents moved back to California where they grew up.
I was a trouble maker in school and regret the past., but the past has made me into who I am today.
After going threw some ruff times in my senior year of high school I finally graduated.
I have played poker since the age of 14 at our monthly family poker game.
We never played any wild games just 5 card stud, 7 stud, 7 card no peek, Chicago hi low, 5 card draw and low ball.
was just a fun family game nothing to serious. I always seemed to be the winner. Maybe it was the alcohol my uncles where drinking that gave me the advantage.
I remember thinking back then before poker blew up that I wanted to play at the WSOP. A dream I am still in the process of accomplishing.
After high school I didn’t do anything good until I met my future wife online! I know weird huh? Well we meet in a California chat room and she kept writing me letters in the mail and calling. I am kidding it was a mutual thing. We just clicked and fell in love before ever meeting.
She lived in Southern California and I lived in Northern California. So we didn’t meet until after like for months of talking. I visited her at her parents house for a week in June of 2001. Two months latter she was able to talk her parents into letting me move in.
A few months latter we got our own place and have been together since. In the 5 and a half years that we have been together we have gotten married and have had Three beautiful daughters ages 4,3, 5 mths!!!
PRESENT
So as you can tell we have our hands full and financially things are tight.
Just recently I have started working from home and have been able to play allot of poker.
I used to play on $50 for a month or longer but would eventually loose it with bad BR management.
The reason I would loose is because I would play NL and would try and bluff to many hands. Then I would go on tilt and dunk of my small BR.
At the end of December 2006 I decide to try some limit holdem. At the time I had only $19 left on my BR.
So I decided to sit down with the last of my BR on a 1$ 2$ lim tbl. I played well on that very limited BR and turned it into $175!
The next day I played all day and dropped back down to my original $50 lol. "dumb fish"
That’s when I realized that limit was the right game for me. So in the next 3 weeks I played 25c 50 c and some 50c 1$ lim and turned my br into $350.
I cashed out$280 and ended up loosing the rest. I realized that I needed to get a book on limit holdem and study.
I love to read books and have a small collection of poker books. So I went into my collection and read Super System 1 and 2 on limit hold em. That helped me allot but I still wanted something else to read. So I talked the wife into going to Barns and noble to look at some poker Books.
I end up buying a book called Internet Texas Holdem! I couldn’t put it down from the start. I am still reading it and will probably never stop reading it.
From there I decide to start an account with AP. I deposit $50 and start off playing 25c 50c lim holdem. With in 5 weeks my BR is sitting at $500
When I finally get to the end of ITH the book I see a web site called ITH. So I check it out and I see all of these people who are nice and willing to help each other out and talk poker.
My first thought is wow this is what I have been dreaming about and its been here all this time lol.
FUTURE
Thanks to this site I am now in the process of waiting for my BR to chase after the bonus on UB $350 100% bonus.
Once that bonus is complete I will be looking to chase another and another until my BR is built up enough to make some cash.
I am very excited about the Future and am anxious to get started on the chase!
So stay tuned and find out what is in store for my future![/b] |

1.Take Majority of my BR to UB for there $350 100% bonus offer.
2.Use wise BR mgmt by keeping a 350 BB BR with a 50 bb cushion per lim.
3.Study my game by using PT stats
4.Start posting Hand examples in Lim forum.
5.Take my last $39.40 on AP and turn it into $300 by April 1st
6.Play 1200 hands a day by 3 Tabling.
7.Tighten up my hand selection and lowering my VPIP to under 20% by April 1st.
8.Stop chasing draws with over cards after flop.
9.Read Pot odds and probabilities By Matthew Hilger.
10.Acomplish Stars $50 100% bonus.
I feel these are all reasonable goals to achieve for the month of March. I plan on making a monthly list of goals for each month to keep track of my progress.

Now its time for my long term goals. Its was hard for me to think about the future so most of these are goals for the next 3 yrs.
1.Make an average profit of $400 a week within 6 mths.
2.cash out $300 a week by sep 1st 2007.
3.Use some of my BR to enter a limit event in the 2008 WSOP.
4.Study Limit Holdem and my game for the next year so I will be able to place in the $ in the 2008 WSOP LIm event.
5.I want to be able to take my family on a 7 day Disney cruise before the end of 2008 threw my online poker winings.
6.Make $800 average profit a week by the end of 2008. Keeping only $200 a week in BR to build up.
7.Keep a weekly Blog of my progress.
8.By the start of 2009 be prepared skills wise to go to Vegas once a month to play some High stakes LIm Holdem.
9.By The end of 2009 be able to begin to buy a house threw poker winings.
10. Also by the end of 2009 to be able to buy in cash my wife a brand new
Dodge Magnum.
These are my goals for the next two and a half years. I know that they will not be eazzy to acomplish.
That is why I am making a plan and a list of goals so I can achive them.
Nothing in life is eazzy but evrything is possible if you apply your self. |

Well allot has changed since I first made a post on this blog. I now no longer desire to be a pro poker player but would like to reap the rewards of being a good poker player.
I have recently lost my desire to grow in my game and it has showed in my play allot. So I have decided to start all over again with a $100 BR on FTP playing 25c 50c limit holdem.
I once was a +EV limit holdem player and have become a -EV know it all NL fish. I have now learned that at the current time I do not have the discipline to play NL holdem and be a overall +EV player.
So until I can grow in my game and become a more disciplined player I am taking my game back to the 6 max limit holdem games. In my Ali like return back to limit holdem I won 20+bb in just over 150 hands.
As soon as I figure out how to get my Poker Tracker back up and running I will start posting hand examples in here. I hope to get some help from my fellow ITHer's and look forward to sharing my ups and downs with you all. |

| I look forward to seeing you hands in the shorthanded forum. You do know that a winning 20BB in 150 hands was just a good session and this winning rate is never maintainable, not even by a pro. |

I'd be happy to share my thoughts on any 6max hands that you post.
I would seriously resommend reading these two books if you are serious about becoming a good 6max player:
Limit Hold'em: Winning Short-handed Strategies
Winning in Tough Hold'em Games
Those two books are just what ITH and HPFAP are for full ring, i.e. the bible and the qur'an of short handed play |

Yeah I know lol I am not that much of a newbie. I am starting over from scratch as far as my hand example goes. Before I stopped playing limit Holdem before I had 10k hands on PT witha 5 BB/100 hands win rate. So I am very curious to see what a true win rate will look like. |

Well thanks Fen I really appreciate it. I am 20 fpps away on stars from my book bonus threw ITH. So now I got this out of the way. I will let you all know I play a little wild but it usually works out well for my table image.
Sometimes I have a big wining session like last night and other times I have a loosing one. When I am loosing I try and stop after 2 buy ins. Right now I am playing 25c 50c 6 max on FTP with a starting buy in of $5.
When I hit $200 as my BR I am going to try and move up to 50c $1 and hopefully stay there. If I drop 50 BB there I will drop back down to 25c 50c.
I have not decided how much of a BR I want for the $1 $2 tables yet. If your reading this then I would love to here what level your at and how long you have been playing limit holdem? |

When playing limit, it is generally recommended to have at least 12 BBs in front of you. That way you get full value when you get a monster and it is capped the whole way [note - the 12 BB figure assumes a cap of four bets each street]. It may not happen very often, but it does happen, and being all in is not a good thing in limit, especially when you hold the nuts. Your just costing yourself money.
By this guide you would need at least $6 in front of you at .25/.50:
capped preflop = $1
capped flop = $1
capped turn = $2
capped river = $2 |

TY Bp I did noteven consider this. 5$ is the amount already preset by ftp for now on I'll consider a buy in lucky number $7. |

I have had a tuff week of poker and I am playing -ev over 2500 hands since I started playing LH again. I made the mistake of playing 4 tables while in a game of Mafia and learned a good lesson. Here is a update of how I have been doing since I last posted on here. I figure this will also make me look at my leaks and get familiar again with operating PT.
2,514 hands played so far and this is what my numbers are looking like playing SH LH Micro 25c/50c. Vpip= 27.21 PFR=21.12 Total AV=3.41 BB/100= -.48/100 hands. Last 500 hands I have tightend up my game more and have went from -2.77/100 to -.48/100 so I am quite pleased.
2,514 hand
VPIP: 27.21
PFR: 21.12
AV:3.41
BB/100; -.48/100 hands
I beleve my AV is way to high on all streets after looking at my stats. If I am wrong then please let me know what you think? |

Sorry to hear you're running bad.
TBH, I think that 2,500 hands simply isn't enough to give any reasonable advice. Your VP$IP and AF seem quite high, but again you could simply have a huge run of cards over such a small sample. I can only advise you to post hand examples in the Limit forum so we can discuss specific situations. Concentrating too much on stats and trying to achieve certain numbers will hurt your game more than it will help you. You also won't find any leaks just looking at some PT stats. And getting your VP$IP right actually is very easy: Just stick to the ITH starting hand chart |
