| Hey Sunny, can you give some details regarding the expected time of arrival of your new book? I understand that it's not going to be published by 2+2 (meh, whatever... all their books fall to pieces anyways) but have you found someone else to put it out yet? How far have you got with the actual content, is it finished? To be honest it's the only poker-related book I'm looking forward to at the moment as Volume One was a such great help in my NL cash learning curve. |

hi Damo_1,
Thanks for the kind words about PNL1.
As for PNL2, the publisher is yet to be determined. Ed, Matt and I are weighing all of our options, as we have a few different ways we can go. Part of the reason creative control is particularly important to us right now is because we believe very strongly in this book.
I think PNL2 will fill a lot of gaps that are currently in the poker book market. We're going to give a very hands on approach to playing aggressive no-limit poker. A lot of readers (and my students) comment that there aren't any books that accurately deal with today's 6-max online games. So that's what we're going to use as a framework for this book.
Game conditions change, both with time and limits. I.e. - opponents play differently in a 25-50 nl game than in a 1-2 game, and people play differently now than they did four years ago. So to get fully familiarized with the games my students and readers are playing in, I played 100k hands at 1-2 nl 6max online. The nuances and exploitable weaknesses in these games will be thoroughly discussed in PNL2.
While we'll use online 6-max as a framework, the concepts won't be limited to those games AT ALL. Mostly we'll just be discussing smart, aggressive, no-limit play that necessarily includes good hand reading, etc.
Date of publication is unknown at this point - hopefully by the end of the year.

Care to wager on Mason's review? You can set the line and I'm taking the under!
Add me to the list of those who really enjoyed your first book. The SPR ratio discussion really helped me to solidify my thoughts on certain NL situations, even ones that you didn't discuss. I did a lot of napkin math on short stacking after I read PNL1, although I found it somewhat boring to do in practice. |

| Glad to see the problems over at 2plus2 have not derailed the book. If you want to work with a nice publisher, I think you can guess the person many people would recommend. |

The interesting thing about the players who gave negative feedback about the book on 2+2 - either because it "didn't apply" to their games, or because they thought it was a beginner book, are the exact same players who posted hand examples complaining about not knowing how to play a hand when they gave themselves an SPR of 10 or something like that. They didn't get it, and I didn't get why they didn't get it.
It doesn't really matter that Vol 1 is, by definition, not a complete book. What matters is that it's the only book (including HoC) that really explains commitment, which is one of the few core fundamentals of NL cash play. |

Add me to the list of PNL1 admirers. I finsihed reading the chapter about creating favourable SPRs yesterday and tried to apply it in my session last night.
Maybe I just ran good but a win rate of >30ptbb/100 over >500 hands when applying a new technique works for me!! |
