This is a hand I think I played really terribly. It shows another of my standard problems playing stud though: I have a strong starting hand and get raised or check-raised by someone with a low door card. What hand do I put him on? Aces at least? Trips even?
I thought I should call, because I had jacks after all and an ace in the hole. On sixth street I was afraid of a straight, but that seemed unlikely given the previous action.
I think the correct play would have been to fold 4th street.

The only hand that makes any sense to me hear is rolled up trip 9's or an open ended straight draw. If he had wired aces you'd have to figure an opening raise to thin the field some. The only other hands that makes any sense is maybe 6 8 or 8 10 in the hole with an open ended straight. I'm leaning toward 8 10. He sees the exposed 10 and your exposed broadway cards and knows two of your straight outs are dead but that maybe you'll continue with a big pair and your straight draw.
I would think you are going see rolled-up 9s a huge percentage of the time here. The only other option that makes any sense is the oesd, which got there on 6th.

You're not saying that you would fold 4th are you?
I don't understand what's so powerful about his play at all. Hero's board is QJo and a 97 is raising out a player in the middle. Why are we assigning such strength to that? I'm referring mainly to the play through 4th here, but once we call to 6th its a tough hand to release, although 6th is the only street where its possible IMO.
Also, what is a "double raise" on 4th? There is no open pair.
