|
|
Does anyone know or where I can find the structures for WSOP Circuit events? I'm considering playing in one of the smaller events at the event next month in Tahoe but I want to check the structure before I commit to it.
I couldn't find info on the official World Series page or Harvey's Lake Tahoe which is hosting the event. |

| I don't know the answer, but I know that they vary from event to event. There were some complaints about the structure for the Southern Indiana one. |

Can you work another miracle and find me the structure for the WPT Celebrity Invitational?
The most I have been able to find out is that the starting stack is 10,000, the starting blinds are 25/25, and blinds go up every 30 minutes. Even with about 450 people expected, I don't see how that will take three days. |

I can't find that one. Most WPT events have a standard structure, but they are four days plus a final table. This one is a ton shorter. I couldn't even find last year's structure at any of the usual suspects.
Shaniac said "Although the structure was improved this year (25/25 and 10,000 chips), it's basically a turbo tournament with half-hour levels, and the event concludes in three short days of play." source |

I had read Shaniac's blog which is where I got the information I had, but when I went to tell people on our league forum about it, I could not find the blog again and I could not remember who wrote it. So thank you very much for finding it and for posting a link.
I still don't see how the WPT tournament will take that long. As a comparison, our league's national tournament also starts with 10,000 in chips and uses thirty minute blinds and they finished in about eight hours. At this year's nationals, they had about 250 people and the blinds started at 100/200, however.
Do you think it is the difference in number of people or the difference in the blinds that is the bigger factor in the WPT event lasting so much longer than the league's nationals? |

I would have to assume that they add more intermediate levels to play. If you keep the blind structure and duration the same, there is almost no way that one event could take three days and another eight hours. |

Thanks. I'm sure this is probably pretty close. Not a great structure but Tahoe is one of my favorite places in the world and my wife loves it too so I might check it out. |

Heading out tomorrow and playing in the $300 event on Friday and probably the $500 event on Saturday assuming I don't make the final table in the Friday event
Wish me luck and have a great weekend everyone. |

| Just got back. I finished 4th in Event 1 with 505 runners good for $9,800. I'll give a complete report in the WSOP section later. |

Congrats.
I was finally able to get the structure for the WPT event I will be playing in. It may end up being either a two day event (with the final table on the second day) or a three day event (with the final table on the third day) and my source was nice enough to give me the structures for both scenarios. |
