Inresting I am a member of CR and am curious where this puts me? I guess I need to read the link lol but I am lazy to atm.
My thoughts are it is cool I can now get a $150 year long sub to Stox but I think it is lame that the current members of CR had to pay $99 sign up fee and that is not mentioned to be credited or anything, |

| There will still be a sign up fee for Crunners as I understand it, but there will be no sign-up fee for Stox. I think this is great news and I'm looking forward to seeing what Stox has to offer. |

Thats interesting news. I was recently talking to someone who really rated cardrunners and recommended I look into it. However now this merger with stoxpoker has happened I'm not sure which one is considered best.
I play low stakes no limit hold em cash games primarily online, does anyone else in similar positions have subscriptions to either of these services and have any reviews or recommendations? I was considering looking into cardrunners but don't know too much about stoxpoker.
Thanks for any help. |

I also play micro NLHE cash games and have a Stox subscription. It's pretty good, although having never used CR I can't compare.
If you're not sure you can get 6 months free with Stox. If you go to their website and sign up for certain sites through their link you get the sub after earning an amount of VIP points. I signed up for one and cleared it in about 2 nights playing 4 tables so it easily done. |

I'm a Stox poker member until 2009-12-24 13:59:41.
I have been a CR member for 6 months. I prefer Stox, but if the price is cheap enough I would not mind getting a CR membership.
Bio:
Ed Miller has made a great series of videos for beginners called: The Poker Made Simple Series. It's a must for anyone starting out in NL. Even for the more avanced players it's a great series of videos.
He also has another one called Simple Aggression (4 or 5 videos IIRC) that is also awesome.
I would say that in general I think that Stox is more focused on low to mid stakes and CR is mid to high. Both have NL and limit content. |

Does either site have much on tournament poker, both MTTs and SNGs?
I was a member of PokerXFactor for a while, and sheets and Bax made great tourney videos. In one series, sheets spent hours discussing a single hand between the button, SB and BB. It was crazy. |

Stox for tournament have Matt Mattros (and a new one don't k remember his name). Tournaments is not Stox's forte. Matt his pretty good but he does not have a lot of videos.
For SNG it's pretty good. Collin Moshman (the guy who wrote Sit'n Go Strategy) is a coach there. |

Cardrunners have a free 24hr trial running at the moment, you just have to head over to the Cardrunners forum on 2+2 and request a password. Alternatively Stox members should have also received a free 24hr pass for Cardrunners via email.
For the limit guys there's some great KPR16 vids that are worth a watch. |

KPR's vids are the best on the internet. Stellarwinds' video's are also very good. I often disagree with him but his advice is still very helpful for any limit player, and he does a very good job in explaining things.
IMO, Cardrunners is the best choice for Limit vids. |

Yea the 24hr pass has convinced me to sign up at some point, Schneids videos are decent as well. KPR's vids are top draw, but Oinks at Deucescracked and Doughnutz at Stox are also very good. The Bryce vids at Stox can be a bit overwhelming despite the fact he has a brilliant poker mind, they usually take a few views to absorb everything he describes. |

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll see if I don't have an account at some of the sites on StoxPoker. Unfortunately I have loads of accounts when I used to sign up for new sites to get the free book offers from ITH so its difficult for me to find offers like that now where I'm not already a member.
I'll certainly give Stox good consideration then. I've heard loads of good stuff about Ed Miller, in fac I still need to check out that book of his, Professional No Limit Hold Em vol 1 or something.
I just wasn't sure over that or cardrunners since the guy I played a live game with recommended it to me and said it really helped his game. He plays stakes like NL25 and NL50 too so I wasn't sure. Thanks for the recommendations thouhg . |

When Bryce get a new video out, I download it and wait until I have some time ahead of me to watch it. I always watch it with a pen a paper and I stop and rewind frequently.
Good stuff, but some of it is really advanced sometimes. |
