Just looking for feedback on this hand. Im 2nd in the tourney at this stage and obv know this guy is the one who can do me damage...
I had him on an overpair to the board but felt he would fold to the push and worst case he calls and I still have outs...
I guess I would like to know opinions on this hand.
I guess im playing to win feel i can get him to fold in this spot etc and obv dont put him on the 6...
Thoughts???!!! I hate going out of tournies !
Interested to know how others would have played this post flop...

| I think when he min-check-raises the flop, you have to let it go... |

| I don't like it at all. When he min checkraises you can guarantee you're up against a made hand, and likely a good one. Best case scenario is you're up against something like 88 or 99, in which case you're basically 50/50. You're much worse off against any other hand that might be in his range here and you have no FE with the push reraise. |

Admittedly I'm a bit rusty, but let me take a crack at this.
I don't know how I feel about the reraise...I think much depends on table image. If this guy has been stealing a bit and you've been quiet, then I like a reraise...but I like more. Raising him less than 2k in this spot is asking for a call. Give him something to think about, raise him to like 3,500 or even 4,000. Make him define his hand. With A 10 here you're hoping his bet is as weak as it looks (His min bet from position is weak 80% of the time IMO) and you can scoop up the antes, blinds, and raise without contest.
As played, the flop just ain't all that bad. It seems like you were destined to go broke at this point. Even if you decided to check behind him, the 2 would have been a good card from you and the 10 even better. YOu just can't put a guy who raised and called a reraise on either of those cards. Then again, sticking in a larger reraise preflop would certainly scare away a player who is playing speculative hands. Raising 1,900 really doesn't accomplish your goal.
I think the only spot you misplayed was preflop, and I'd say you should either be sticking in a significant larger reraise with A 10 if you sense weakness, or if you're unsure I don't think calling with position and this semi-strong ace is all that bad either.
Again, reads are everything. If he's been stealing blinds with small raises preflop and C Bets on each called steal attempt, then a reraise is certainly in order with your hand. If you're readless or he's a solid TAG, play softer at this juncture. This is my humble opinion, it could be way off... |
