I'm going to be withdrawing a sizeable portion of my bankroll and I wanted to hear some thoughts on my bankroll plans. I've always been comfortable with my limit ring BR requirements...but I want to make sure I'm okay with MTT and SNG BR requirements since that has been my focus lately.

I've looked at many of the threads on bankroll management in regards to SNGs and MTTs and it appears the consensus, and correct me if I'm wrong, is:

30 buy-ins for SNGs
100 buy-ins for MTTs

My SNG plan is to play either the $30+$3's or the $27+$2 buy-ins. My MTT plan is to focus on the 180 man $20+$2 and the larger field MTTs with buy-ins between $10-$20. This plan will also include some SharkDAQ tourneys, but with more backing from the fund. Those occurrences would not be as regular, comparatively speaking.

If I plan to do a combination of both do I need to set aside each dollar amount separately?

Say I do the the $30+$3's with 30x buy-in, that's $990. And 100 buy-ins at $20+$2 for MTTs is $2,200. So do I need $3,190? Or is $2,200 sufficient for my plans?

My initial thought is that I would set aside both the 30 buy-ins and 100 buy-ins separately. But then I thought that my be conservative. I do not want to be aggressive with my bankroll, but at the same time I'd prefer not to be overly conservative.

Thoughts or comments?

I think rolling yourself for both is on the conservative side. It would be like saying I should have 100 buy-ins for MTTs + 300 BB for the limit I'm playing. I think 100 buy-ins for tourny's is pretty conservative already.

Now if combine your BRs and run bad in both discplines you'll have to drop limits or redopsit, as long as your fine with that it is what I'd do.

P.S I'm more aggro with my BR than many ITHers

I tend to do what you are contemplating. I maintain a separate bankroll for both types I play: NL ring and SNGs (although I do lump HU SNGs with regular one).

It's a very conservative approach, but it suits me well, because I don't want to ever have to deposit again.

Edit: I also have a small amount set aside for donking around.
