Hi all,
After the new law regarding US online poker players, I've narrowed the sites I play at to Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet. I may open up a couple other accounts in the future. Anyway, it seems there are many more six handed tables than full ring games. They also seem to be much looser. I mainly play full ring cash games but am considering playing a lot more on the six handed tables. Anyway, I'm looking to sharpen up my skills for six handed games after playing mostly full ring games. Are there any books that have a section or sections dedicated to six handed play?

Look at "Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker" by King Yao and "Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players" by Sklansky and Malmuth. They both have chapters on short-handed play. I'm not aware of any books yet published but I have read that 2 + 2 has a couple they'll publish in the near future.

Also, spend some time reading posts in the short-handed section of this forum.

Oooh, wow, that one by Jacobs looks like a winner. Looking forward to it. We were in sore need of one like that.

The best books for short handed play are:

* Weighing the odds in hold 'em poker- King Yao.

* Winning Texas hold 'em. Cash game strategies for players of all skill levels- Matt Maroon

If it's 6 handed limit play rather than NL then Dave Fromm has some really good dvds out there you could try out.

I'm about halfway through the stox book and I must say that I like it. Lots of data from poker tracker to back up the theory. I'm sure that I am not absorbing nearly enough on the first read but it is a thumbs up thusfar.
