I just received my copy yesterday and am enjoying it immensely. I have just finished the chapters on betting in the early rounds. Lots of this I knew but it was good to get confirmation on what I am doing properly. I like his hand examples. They are representative of typical situations and do not get overly detailed. Looking forward to reading the remainder of the book and I am certain I will have more to say. BTW the author will be September's guest at the Ask The Expert forum.

just started the High blind play chapter.........

so far the book is very very very helpful as when to be aggressive and when to back off.

I can already see my sng game improving, Im starting to cash 2/3's of the time now.

I started reading this book and tend to study it until I grasp all of it!

But one thing I really need to know: what are the definitions of low-blind, mid-blind and high-blind? How do you know in what stadium you are?
I know this can't be just the amount the BB is, because of different blind structures and different starting stacks of SnG's. Is it the amount of BB you have left in your stack? And how does that compare to other's that have more or less? And if it's like that, does that mean I can be in high-blind, while someone else is in low-blind?

I think it's that last part I wrote as there was some hint of it near the end of the low-blind part of the book, which I just finished.

It's one part I really miss in the book: a good definition of these stages as the book is split into these three stages and strategy is dependend of it.

If I have read him properly high-blind begins in the neighborhood of 50/100, definitely 75/150. But rather than looking for exact dividing lines I think it is more important to grasp the concepts behind high blind play.

I'm not yet to the high-blind section. But just grasping the concepts behind high-blind play and then using those concepts in mid-blind play is probably bad. Now that I am in the mid-blind section I do see that in the hand examples he explains what to do and why, because of different factors, so most of the time I think you know what concept to apply at what time.

In his book, he uses hand examples with blinds of t100-t200 in the mid-blind section, so I think he doesn't even divide the stages by a solid line himself.

And one more thing, I play at Everest that has a different structure than Stars for example (lower starting stack and lower blinds). Will the book devote some pages to adjusting to different blind structures? Or is the general principle just that with other structures the stages come sooner or later?

I don't recall that he has any section on adjusting blind structures so try to do that for yourself.
