Does anyone know of an article on hand selection in shorthanded play -- say down to the last 3-4 and what is considered good/bad/indifferent
Thanks

That pdf has a few articles. There is one in the middle of the package called Hypermagachi's 6-max guide or something similar. It is the first article I read when starting out with SH play and it covers starting hand values as well as some post-flop ideas to consider.

| There's a fairly detailed discussion of pre-flop SH play in this article. A bunch of other pretty good SH advice in the other articles too. I should prolly re-read these now that I think of it. I've been doing most of my SH play by feel, and it might be good to refresh myself on someone else's play. |

Aaaaahh....yes, that does make a difference, doesn't it? I suppose if you're looking for late-tourney advice my link doesn't help much. I don't think Taz's do much either, though I didint investigate that throughly.
I think the best thing to do is buy Harrington on Hold'em II (and I, and III for that matter). It's obviously not a free online article but is great for SH play in tourneys. |

In terms of Limit short-handed hold'em, I just started a chapter this week that will cover short-handed in the 2nd edition of ITH. It was quite fun writing and am looking forward to finishing it. I am hoping I will get the 2nd edition out next summer.
My style is different than some of the literature out there posted around the Internet on short-handed. Mainly, I never limp first-in. Sometimes you will see people recommend this from early position but that just isn´t good advice. Image is key for me in short-handed so I play very, very aggressive. It is a style where maybe my play on a single hand might seem too aggressive, but the image I create gives me excellent long-term profits.
In some ways, my strategy recommended for short-handed play is pretty much opposite my strategy recommended for full ring games. Short-handed, I want to be playing more hands than anyone at the table. Of course, there is a caveat - I am always looking to play in what i describe as tight-passive games. Games where there are other aggressors are not nearly as profitable from a big bet per hour perspective.
I do have one article posted at ITH on the biggest mistake in short-handed - which is calling rather than raising.
