|

Due to lack of interest from the runners and even more to lack of motivation on my part, I have decided to close down the SharkDAQ. I've been doing a terrible job of keeping up with it anyway and I think it is unfair to all participants in its current incarnation. I will be posting the final share price and issuing distributions to the remaining stakeholders shortly.
I'm still very much in support of the idea of those of us with the resources to do so helping those members who are on their way up and would happily join as a shareholder if someone else launched a similar effort, but clearly I no longer have the time and motivation to do it properly and we seem to get almost no action in any event.
I'd like to express my appreciation to those of you who invested your hard-earned dollars in support of our players in the big events and also to those of you who went through the screening process and spent your time playing for us. Obviously, I wish we would have hit a big score at some point, but I think that the big wins that some of our stakees managed to hit demonstrates that the idea was sound, even if it didn't work out for us. Had Taz been running for the DAQ when he won the massive Million, I feel sure that everyone's enthusiasm would have been higher (except perhaps for Taz himself!)
This is probably as good a spot as any to say that I do not expect to be coordinating the People's Championship this year either. I very much hope that someone else is willing to pick up the torch because I think they are awesome events and I am confident that both jrspm and Primitive were +EV contenders in the past two Main Events. |

Thanks for the great idea and all the effort that you DID put forth. As usual you were central in developing something that not only helped ITH'rs play in some cool events, but also continued the great sense of community that ITH has always had. I've often wondered what this may have been if not for the legislation passed nearly18 months ago.
I look forward to your next cranial concoction |

Me too. My enthusiasm for staking declined rapidly right after UIGEA, which was right about the time:
1) the SharkDAQ was formed;
2) We did the three Sunday Million stakes - by the third one, we had a pretty good system and were selective enough that I think we were on the verge of a profit.
After UIGEA, I felt bad about asking people to risk what might have been a substantial percentage of their online roll, considering the difficulty of reloading. |

| I had Wade write to me and advise that he didn't want his shares back as he doesn't play much online poker any more. Although he offered for me to donk them off, I propose to donate them to Columbianitos. Additionally, I will match his 5 shares, so we will have 10 shares to donate. |

| BTW, the original DAQ thread is now stickied. I guess it should have been long ago, but it always stayed near the top on its own accord, so I never bothered. |

Even though I have no stake in the DAQ I am sorry to see it go. When I first joined it was one of the things I found intriguing about this community and in part made me stick around.
I don't have any say, but it seems it would be fitting to have some kind of send off. Get as many runners as possible for one last hurrah. If anyone hits some of the money could go to Colombianitos, the rest disperesd to the investors. Or something along those lines.
Just a thought.

Regardless of the final results...the purpose of the DAQ was a good one.
One I would invest in again.
Cheers to Nside and all runners for the DAQ for a solid effort.
and then one more for Sharky just becuz that had to be a pain in the a$$ to keep straight.
Thx to all. |

I was hoping one day to be good enough not to embarrass myself or the DAQ.
Hopefully somewhere down the line, something similar emerges.
Of course, that also requires me getting good enough..... |

Oups, Just saw this thread. RIP.
If you haven't paid out yet Sharkie, feel free to drop my shares to Columbianitos too. |

Just saw this now...
I'm sad to see the DAQ go, but I understand the reasoning. |

| Too bad. I thought this was a cool idea and seeing how it turned out was one thing that really kept me lurking around here. Good effort. |

I got an e-mail stating that I had to fax a copy of a photo ID and a utility bill before I could get a cash out. Apparently I am suspected of bonus abuse and having multiple SharkDaq accounts.
