This is technically a vent, but I'm laughing about it. I've been using extreme bankroll discipline lately and am completely ignoring stuff like this. I'm only posting it here because it's so unusual.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 10/20 Blinds (9 handed)
MP1 (t1360)
MP2 (t1650)
MP3 (t1470)
CO (t1240)
Button (t1490)
Hero (SB) (t1480)
BB (t1500)
UTG (t1810)
UTG+1 (t1500)
Preflop: Hero is SB with ,
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t20, MP1 calls t20, MP2 calls t20, 1 fold, CO calls t20, Button calls t20, Hero calls t10, BB checks
Fifth hand of the tournament. I get to see a cheap flop with lots in the pot. If I hit my set, the chances of getting paid are good.
Flop: (t140) , , (7 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, Button bets t80, Hero calls t80, BB calls t80, 4 folds
Turn: (t380) (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets t160, Button raises to t420, Hero calls t420, BB calls t260
River: (t1640) (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets t980 (All-In), Button calls t970 (All-In), Hero calls t960 (All-In)
Total pot: t4540

At showdown. 75BB deep, it's very hard to get away from set over set. |

Well, I'll bet you had a thought in the back of your mind that you were beat when they pushed and called the shove on the river.
However, there's no way I'm folding a FH in the first 5 hands getting 3.5:1 on the river. Very unlucky. I don't think I've had that. |

I think the saying goes, that if you don't lose a lot of money in a set over set confrontation, you played your set wrong. Since no one raised preflop, I'm not fearing that board. I can't expect JJ to limp. 55? Certainly possible, but I would probably go bust here as I'll bet the flop and probably get raised by either or both. If it goes me making pot bet followed by overbet and push, I might be able to get away, but doubt it. |

| For the record, I was virtually never folding this. I've seen 3way all ins in these 180 turbos where I would see KJ and 99 on this same showdown. I posted it more as a "wow, look at this rare hand" than anything else. |
