Villain is 42/17/1.7
I actually think this is a good spot to play WAWB post flop so in hindsight I may play this passively. If I get action on the flop there's a good chance I'm behind and also by raising I shut out a lot of 2 outers that will probably now fold. Better to just let villain fire off with a marginal hand here?
As played any value in a river bet? Could I possibly get K high or lower pockets to call here?
You probably need to check-raise this to provide balance for you bluffs, but WA/WB is probably fine too. As played, you should probably bet the river. You should look at how often you will lose 2 bets to Ax compared to getting calls from worse pairs (JJ and such) and maybe some K-high. What would be best depends on the tendencies of your opponent.

Yep I missed value here as he shown up with 99. I actually thought this opponent was probably capable of folding pockets 99 and under and that may have been the case but he picked up a flush draw on the turn so would likely of payed me off on the river.
