I'm pretty sure we will see some sort of regulated online gaming before the next Presidential elections in 2012. The major US casino operators must be just salivating at the possibilities and they have more lobbying power than the PPA. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out in the next few years. Remember, money talks in this country. My only concern here is that the US Gaming industry tries some sort of power grab....whereas US players are allowed to play online but only with US based companies. . I'm sure they and the politico's are looking at the billions of US dollars going overseas and might try to write a bill to keep the money in the US. With the casino industry driving this we need to be vigilant in my opinion. I think thats where the PPA would need to get involved to represent the players on these new websites. There are so many possibilities on the form this will all take. It will make for an interesting few years.

That's not the election I'm talking about. If this economy is still in bad shape, the voters will blame Obama and the Congress. They will only have recourse in 2010 to change Congress meaning that the Republicans could win back either or both houses and any anti-UIGEA legislation might not get off the ground.

Sure, if the economy is still in the dumper in 2010 the people can throw the Dem's out and that would certainly change things, but I choose to take the approach that things will improve somewhat(trying to be optimistic here). Who knows.... Things seem to move through Congress at a snails pace so I figured before 2012 for sure.
I actually don't think that with Obama as president we will have more issues than with any other politician before.
I mean there will be always critical issues that we have to consider when it comes to playing poker online or any other betting event but as long we don't do any thing illegal we should be fine
