I'm a fairly new player. I used to play micro low-limit hold'em a few years ago. Now I've been playing no-limit sit & gos, usually $1.10 buy-in. Lately I've been having some luck with 45-person turbos. Often I bust out 4 or 5 times in a row, then finish 1st or 2nd, which more than makes up for it. I enjoy the fast pace and I'm newbie enough that the luck factor is probably for the best right now, anyway.

Here's what happened to me the other day.

The blinds were up to 200/400 with 25 ante. I called an all-in and lost, and figured it was over. I was about to close the window when I see I had 37 in chips left.

Next hand: [King of Clubs Ace of Clubs]! I'm big blind, so I'm all-in...
Board [Kd Ts Qs Qd Js], someone else and I get a straight, so I split side pot.

Now I'm up to 99 in chips. Next hand: [Queen of Hearts King of Spades]... small blind, so all-in
Board [Qd 7h 7s 9s 6d], I win.

Now at 347 in chips. Cards [Ace of Hearts 7 of Spades]... Not too bad, and I might not see better before I'm blinded out, so all-in.
Board [5c 5s 9s 8d Th] By showdown, only me and one other guy left, and my ace beats his K.

1191 in chips! Next hand [King of Diamonds Ace of Clubs] now this is geting silly...
board [5h 5c Jd Th 8h], my hand beats [Qd Kh].

So I clawed my way back to 3848 in chips, an average-size stack at that point. I had tripled up 4 times in a row.

I played it a lot more cautious after that, but I was back in the running. And the best part is: I won the tournament! First place! Cool I know it's only $14, but still... the win felt pretty epic to me. I guess I can look back on this any time I have a bad beat, and figure it more than evens out.

(This is on Pokerstars, tournament# 110271872 if you want to look it up. Although please don't tell me how lousy my play is. I know it! Like I said, I'm a noob.)

I am relatively new to poker. Anyone have any comment at all? Does this sort of thing happen all the time?

It seemed like a big deal to me, coming from so far down so late in the tournament to win it. I realize it was all luck, of course. But what are the chances?

It's absolutely amazing!

The chances are very low. When you have so few chips, you could have AA 5 times in a row and still be expected to bust.

Congrats!
