I have a free $25 bet from a sportsbook. I have to put it on the prop bet of Randy Moss total receptions vs the Chargers
< 4 receptions +100
4 receptions +100
> 4 receptions +100
I'll take whatever the crowd here votes. |

San Diego's defense has had only two decent games this year.
Against the Jets and Raiders.
I went with the over.
GL to you. |

My instinct (as opposed to my gut) tells me I'd take the under. I think the over is the obvious bet here to a majority of people (and therefore more likely to be wrong).
But I don't have a strong feeling either way. |

| Chargers pass D has been fairly porous and the Pats appear to be concentrating on opening up the offense for Cassell. I think he'll grab 5 balls. |

| Yeah, but they threw it to him 10 times. There were at least two drops. He should have caught more than three balls. |

I have submitted this argument to CS with the request that they pay me anyways. No response yet. |

Whenever you take a poll like this and the results are massively skewed (as they are here) go against public opinion and you'll be a winner probably about 80% of the time. You'll certainly beat the vig with a healthy profit margin. |

I am well aware of Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds. This particular group of folks tends to be a bit less knee jerk than most, so I am not sure what I would have done had it been my own money at risk. As it was, it was a free bet at a book I no longer have any cash at, and it would have probably been more hassle than $25 is worth to get it out had I won.
I read the forums at SBR, and will frequently fade the popular consensus picks over there. It is somewhat profitable and very amusing. |
