BB was a TAG at 17/15, Button seemed fishy and was limping a lot.
Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
6 players
Converter
Stack sizes:
UTG: $47.60
UTG+1: $20.75
CO: $16.85
Button: $55.35
Hero: $51.50
BB: $63.65
Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with
3 folds, Button calls, Hero raises to $2.5, BB raises to $8, Button folds, Hero ???
Once he 3bets me I don't really like my options. Folding seems weak in a SB vs BB situation, calling leaves me oop with A-high in a big pot, and if I 4-bet, I will be pot-committed to call a shove, which I don't like either against his likely range.
What do you think is my best line?
Thanks for any comments! |

| Helps to include your image, but if you're playing tight and relatively straightforward, you could probably just dump this. |

Looks like a fold.
There's really no other option that makes any sense, its just a good play by BB in that spot. |

What is his 3-betting range?
If he is tight, it's probably around 5%. That's 99+,AJs+,KQs,AKo. Which translate to 38% equity for you and 62% for him...
If you play multi-table ABC poker Fold is the standard play.
But...
What is your image at the table. Have you been spewing chips away, lost a big pot recently, did you fold to 3-betting often during this session, do you usually fold to raises while not in position, what is your preflop raise %, do you usually punish the limpers when in the SB, etc?
All these factors (and more) would influence your decision for a 3-bet. Obviously, if you think his 3-betting range is only QQ+, AKo+ and you know he will push if you 4-bet, then it's a definite fold. But if you think he may be 3-betting light because of all the factors mentioned, you could play back at him. |

Agreed, The answers to these questions change the hand dramtically.
Also how many hands do you have on villan? The reason I ask is his stats indicate a weakness... 17/15 means that 88% of all the hands he plays he's raised preflop, pretty aggro preflop. However if you only have like 75 hands on villan then these numbers are reliable enough to tell us villan is TAG but his actual VP$IP and PFR could be off a bit. |
