Does it expire? It's a pretty crappy bonus.

Beggars can't be choosers. 180 days to clear.
Plus there's the value of the points you're earning also. For people playing anyways on Stars, doesn't matter how crappy the bonus is, really, it's just an extra boost to the normal "rakeback" system that is FPPs.

Except for the casual poker player like myself who only plays once in a while it would take me a year to clear that bonus.

This bonus is only good for 9 tabling bonus whores or compulsive gamblers. (half joking)

With big multiplier bonuses, something to remember: you don't have to take the full amount. It's important to be realistic about your play and the level of committment you can give the bonus.

And wholly wrong. Depends what level you play, of course (it's virtually impossible to clear a Stars bonus at limits below 1/2), but at 1/2 FR you make roughly 20 FPP/table/hr. You need 4800 = 240 table/hrs. So you could play just 2 tables for just 40 minutes a day and still clear the maximum. A clearance period of 180 days makes Stars bonuses ideal for the occasional player. If you're any more casual than that, I shouldn't think you play enough to clear ANY bonus.

I pretty much only play Stars so any bonus is a bonus. I average around .25 FPP / Hand at .5/$1 6-max so need to play roughly 20k hands to clear. I play around 5,000 hands a month which ain't a lot but it's certainly enough to clear the bonus, even at .5/$1. Not sure how many more hands you would need to play at .5/$1 Full Ring.

I stand corrected, then. (Though I found earning points painfully slow below 1/2.) I'd imagine the no. of hands at FR would be about the same - it would just take longer to play them.

Yeah, this is more of a bonus for loyal Pokerstars players. Anyone who earns Silverstar every month will be able to collect the bonus in half the time required, it's literally just a bonus for playing there. For bonus chasers, it's probably best to just go for like $50 or $100 and use it when there isn't much going on at the time.

I'm too lazy to look up the specifics on the terms of the bonus....does anyone know if I can deposit to get the bonus and then make a withdrawl without affecting the bonus?

The way I read that and the way Stars would like me to read that may be extremely different. However I can't image they expect people to not withdrawl funds for 6 months. Maybe I'll just ask support.

That might not help. See my posts in this thread. Confused I don't think they'll bump you off the bonus, though.

Sigh...time for some 8-tabling Sad

Edit: 1st session over, I 8-tabled $1/$2 FR for about 75 minutes.

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 713 hands and saw flop:
- 54 out of 86 times while in big blind (62%)
- 30 out of 87 times while in small blind (34%)
- 67 out of 540 times in other positions (12%)
- a total of 151 out of 713 (21%)
Pots won at showdown - 35 of 55 (63%)
Pots won without showdown - 47

I earned 257 Base FPP which means about 36% of my hands counted toward the bonus.

At a rate of 206 FPP/hr of 8-tabling, it takes just over 23 hours to clear this bonus.

Pretty crappy, but I did end up + 20 BB for the session...probably a good thing that I'm forced to play full ring limit again. Smile

All in all, I was shocked at how tight-passive these tables were...easy pickins.
