This is an attempt to systematically compare the rake structures at all sites, using real world data. Obviously, the more data that we have for a particular limit, the more accurate it is. If you don't see published statistics for a particular site that means we don't have enough data to publish it yet. We want more data for every site. Post your data in this thread

In an attempt to make my life easier, I've automated the process of updating this data. I hope that the following spreadsheet image is readible. If not, I'll have to go with plan B.

I'm not sure I trust these numbers yet. I'm doing some fact checking and may update this graphic later tonight with better numbers.

The sites are sorted from lowest rake per 100 hands to highest rake per 100 hands. The second column calculates rake as a percentage of the pot size and the last column is the number of hands I have for that site/limit combination.

Obviously, if the amount of data is very low, the data is suspect. All the limits on the left are full ring and all the limits on the right are short-handed. I have some data for higher and lower limits and will probably assemble another screenshot with that data at some point in the not too distant future.

I'd still welcome more data points. Now that it is no longer so painful to assemble the data, I will probably be willing to update it more often.

Prima may also be the first site where rake as a percentage of pot size makes them more attractive.

Prima caps their rake of .5/1 and $1/2 pots at $1.50.
.25/.50 pots are capped at $0.30.

nside, did you get all the stats posted in the linked thread? Asking because I had over 9k raked hands at $1/$2 6-max on Stars and your only showing 3k hands for that level.

Nside,

Can you validate this for me?

Poker Stars 2/4 = 7.68$/100

Absolute 2/4 = 10.41$/100. If I have Rakeback 28%. I pay 7.49$/100

So PokerStars rake = Absolute + Rakeback rate. Right?

I just want to make sure I understand the numbers.

Thanks.

Yes.

I still haven't updated the results apparently. I must remember that one of these days.

Two other useful rake comparisons I've seen:

I'm not entirely sure your stats are legit. I think it's probably because your sample sizes are too small. I have 8k of hands at PokerRoom, and my rake has only been $1.99/100 Hands. And we know that even 8k isn't that much. You shouldn't have posted this information unless you had more solid evidence to back it up.

Ed,

The tables are rake paid per average player. It has to be this way to make the site to site comparisons accurate.

If you play tighter than average you will pay less rake than listed.

So your post isn't misleading to anyone reading this thread, please calculate average rake per player and repost your results.

I apologize if you did calculate this correctly, if so send me your calculations and I'll double check them for you. Something is definitely haywire with your calc (or with the tables above) because your results are so different from what has been reported.

As soon as this is done being a hot topic, could I have Cyb move it to the PSRF? It would be listed in our alphabetical list. No rush, I'd just like to have it moved there when you're done adding new things. Would that be all right?

I feel like I'm building a new home, and shopping for furniture and interior decorations. Very Happy

+++++++++++++

Nevermind. Rolling Eyes I thought I was accessing it through an announcement in the General Forum. Sorry to interrupt. Embarassed
