Wondering if anyone else feels the same way too. Online, I will tilt like crazy and drop a chunk of change after a bad beat or some otherwise sick thing happens to me. Partly why I hate playing online now (that and my local casinoboat is a certified ATM)
But live, I don't tilt when I get a bad beat. Maybe because I know if I sit there long enough the guy will give back those chips or I can watch him donk off several 100 chasing bad hands and that makes me feel better. I'm not really sure why but I can control my emotions live much better.
I'm thinking of turning my soon to be freed neteller bankroll to strictly tournaments online because if I get a bad beat I'm prob out the tourney anyways. Also, will prob buy the book, heard some guys talking about it at my local game...hope they don't pay attention to it.
I think tilt is definitely more dangerous online for a number of reasons.
1. You play hands a lot faster and so will lose more money.
2. You have separation from the real world and so can act in ways that would be embarassing if you were physically sitting at the table.
3. You can make terrible decisions (like moving up limits) quicker and easier online, whereas live it is a complex enough procedure that you have plenty of time for a reality check.
4. The fact you are looking at numbers on a screen rather than playing with real chips makes the money you are losing seem less real.
