I should have known that something wacky would happen when you name a Tropical Storm/Hurricane HUMBERTO!!
Long story short. Atlanta airport shut down and my flight was delayed 3 hours. This meant I would miss my connection and it was the last connection of the day to AC. SOOO...after 4 hours in the airport waiting, I came back home.
Leaving 6am tomorrow and will arrive noonish at AC airport. (Cross your fingers.) I decided to stay until Monday to make up the time.
So do the best you can without me. Save me some rum!!
While there may be some rum left, I promise you a couple margaritas. I actually was a bit concerned Humberto might spoil your trip. Glad to hear you can get out tomorrow morning.
I had a similar experience at ATL (actually all through today), but got lucky and found a direct flight from ATL to AC that I rushed to jump on... my original connection was to Philly. When I got to ATL, they told me basically I was screwed, and would have to fly out Friday morning, without even volunteering to help me find a cab to a hotel, much less actually pay for my hotel or compensate me for the extreme inconvenience this entire day ended up being.
I called the airline's reservation desk directly (the rebooking desk was worthless), and they told me about the ATL to AC flight.
But, my luggage isn't here yet; I really have no idea when it will arrive.
