Infiniti GTR discussions Sorry - earlier forum post above was the Skyline GT-R. Everything I've seen has indicated fall of '07 or early '08.

fatshaft - I love Alfas. All Alfas.... well, most Alfas. Those made before 1962 anyway.

I'm mostly interested in going fast on the cheap. Check out the Top Gear video of an EVO vs a Lamborghini at the track...very interesting.

I'm a Johnny come lately, got my first Alfa, a 156 in summer 2005, I will be hard pressed to buy anything else now. They are just fabulous cars.

Alfa has been woefully absent from the US market for many years now, since 1995, but the last decent car they had here was well before that. I don't think the GTV (??) counted. I did get to borrow a new Spyder for the day in 1986 for a photo shoot while I was in college. Nice day.

I like the Alfas too, but they are hard to find here. I read somewhere that they were going to come back, but no Brera for me unless I'm willing to wait until 2009.

You do realize that people like you are the reason so many people's homes are in foreclosure in Detroit?

    Shame....

How about an AMG? I've never driven one so I can't comment but I've heard good things about them.

Sounds like Porsche might be your best bet.

    1) New Lexus I350 F -- You may not know this one. Its coming out in the December/January timeframe and will be a wicked fast 425bhp, 5.0 liter V8 powered machine on the very civilized IS platform. Pros: luxury features, fast, reliable, rare, good resale value Cons: 4 door couple sedan only, perhaps a bit too "tame"
    you cant get a Lexus.

    Well,

If you dont care about practicality too much how about

    Noble M12 GTO
Ariel Atom, this is an astonishing car.

At 6'3 your going to have trouble with an Elise or Exige, and even though you think they look like cartoon cars, they are an unbelievable drive.

    This was fun

Dodge Viper -- Too much of a brute to drive everyday
Lotus Elise -- Looks like a cartoon car
    Lexus SC430 -- I'm not a woman
Too bad you gave up on the Vette. It is, without a doubt, the best sportscar for the money.
Have you considered the '07 Shelby GT500 Mustang? 450+hp for 39k base, why wait for a used one?
