Villain is 42/22/5.7 over 109 hands

Villain had been check raising a lot of flops sometimes with air and other times with a hand so I didn't like folding on the flop. When the 6 pairs on the turn I may now be beat but convince myself that there's a flush draw out there still. When the flush hits on the river I elect to fold getting 7 to1. Odds of 7 to 1 are always so borderline with a marginal hand so I fold.

Given the fact that I'd seen villain check raise with air should I have called this river at that price?

No, it is pretty close. On the flop, he is check-raising a pocket pair, an Ace, a four, a six, a flush draw, a straight draw or air. By the river, almost everything got there on you, except 75 a four or air. If you think he would check-call a four, he needs to have air 14% of the time or so. He might not. If he would still bet a four, I think its probably a call. If not, its probably a fold.

Okay as I thought I'm giving way too much credit to my opponents hand.

Lol, yes I deleted it after realising when typing the post that there was enough hands in villains range to warrent a call getting 7 to 1. As you say I've only got to be good 13-14% of the time and as I'd seen this guy raise the flop with air before there's a good chance I'm good often enough at this price.
