The last hand I played with this guy I had JJ (button) and he had J7(UTG+2). Board was 2J59K. He followed me all the way down and I was able to get my whole stack in on the river and he called me. That's the only information I had about him was this hand.
Should I even be playing MP with a hand like this and this is a raising hand if it's folded to you, correct? Looking back at it now, maybe I should I have just called him since he was all in?

It all depends on how you feel about putting 10% of your stack in on this hand.
A call could have given you more info.
ATs is ok from MP IMO.
Be careful about how many times you fold to an all-in bet like this. The more alert players will notice it. |

No it's doesn't. It's about maths and hand ranges.
There's $1.55 out there and we have to call 75c. That means we only have to win something like a third of the time to call here. Then we spot that he played J7 in early position and stacked off when a jack flopped and we assume he's a moron. Then we call. |

I'm calling this.
The odds to call are over 2-1 so that already makes me want to call. Villain may be playing weakly or has just given up so I may even have the best hand.
Maybe if this was the first hand he has played in 3 rounds I might think about it.

what he said
He could have essentially any hand, and outside of aces, you are almost getting the odds to call anyways. If he's gonna play garbage from EP, I suspect he's the type to get trappy with big hands in the blinds, so I wouldn't be overly worried about a big pair from the guy. My guess is he has a naked ace and you got him dominated here. |

Especially since the previous hand, or rather, because he ended up getting short, not rebuying, and may just be looking to get in with a lot of crap hands to double up I would be very, very happy to get my money in. For value even because I would expect to have the best hand here on average.
Second, you got pot odds to back you up here. Even if he has KK here you got the correct odds to call. |
