Awesome night to be a Cowboys fan! Watched the High School team(the Deadskins) let the Giants run right over them... and then watched the Giants(superbowl champions) flounder around in their own territory and settle for 3 field goals versus a HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM! Nice... see ya in February!!

You know, I think the NFL won't do that again.
They put a wet blanket on their opening day.
Next year 2 BIG games with BIG teams, not one-time playoff Washinton, with got hot at the right time last year Giants.
Indy at NE in the early game and Dallas at SD in the late.
Are you with me??? |

Absolutely! They make these mistakes over and over again. Unless you're a die hard fan of either of those teams, anyone could see that it was a setup for a sleeper of a game. |

No, because the early season games are, in a lot of ways, simply extensions of preseason. I rather see the BIG games late in the season, with something on the line for the teams involved (like their playoff lives).
Washington/NY is a major intra-division rivalry (as are most games with the NFC East). The NFC East is typically one of the more competive divisions (there have been seasons where that wasn't true - but those usually don't last for too many years).
Washington may be a high school team. I guess that makes the Lions pee-wee league.
Oh - Dallas can bite me. |

If this thread is going to thrive and survive, can I put in my modest plea for a change to the ebonically inspired title? |

Done.
I wondered about that when I did it, but the phrasing is shared by many dialects. I was specifically thinking Hillbilly, which is my heritage. |

Merriman(sp) is going to go under the knife. (knee)
Wonder how this will affect the lines for SD in coming weeks. |

Redskins/Giants/Eagles/Cowboys are really the only games that matter. The rest of football is silly. Name one division where fans and players hate each other so much?
Oh, and yes - Dallas can bite me too! |

Oh, I don't know.
Cle./Balt. comes to mind.(for an obvious reason)
Pitts./Cincy also fits the bill.
Probably the closest thing the AFC has to those four. |
