I'm not posting a lot on the boards for quite some time, and not frequenting IRC anymore, but hopefully some of you remember me
Anyway, sitting at work, in the middle of the night, and thought I'd pass some time by writing a short bit about my first royal.
I got it a couple of days ago(working a lot of nights make days blurry), playing a $3.30r to an EPT London satellite.
I had AQ of clubs in early position, we were still in the rebuy period, so I pushed it straight off the bat. Only one shorty called with some junk hand. Flop was 2 clubs, and turn & river were clubs too. That made enough clubs for me to take a miniscule pot and get my first royal.
Scetchy detail eh? I didn't even bother that much when I got it. I was "Oh, a royal, whoopee" with a slight undertone of sarcasm. So i didn't bother remembering the details.
If anyone is genuinly interested I can look up and post the HH when I'm at home.
Aaaanyway. it only took me 4 years of playing and probably a couple of hundred thousand hands before I finally got one. Another milestone to put in the bag...
It's my second royal (of three now) that I'll never forget. I was playing $2/4 limt holdem at the now defunct Planet Poker. I had the str8 flush draw on the flop and bet into it from EP. Got two callers. Turned the royal, so I checked. They both checked behind. I bet the river and they both folded. I typed "good fold, I turned the royal" in the chat window.
Another player was kind enough to direct me to the promotions page. Planet Poker was running a promotion where if you showed down a royal flush you won $100 bonus.

My $4 river bet cost me $100.
