I've never played with him but I've seen him at levels as low as 50NL before. I read an article with him that he often plays at substantially lower levels than his usual levels when he is trying out new concepts. I guess some rumors started flying that he was broke and he wanted to set the record straight about why folks would see him at the micro and low levels.

I guess one new concept he's been working on is called "please stop the hemoraging".

What new concepts can you try at 50NL? Sounds like pre-emptive excuse making to me.

Why you wanna bust on somebody for proper bankroll management? Particularly you, Piemaster?

Everybody thinks it's cool when Full Tilt pros drop down to low and middle limits to play with the masses. Include me in that number, I've particularly enjoyed Kristy Gazes PLO8 table and Andy Bloch's HORSE table from time to time.

I get it. Everybody wants Moneymaker to suck so they can know in their hearts that they are better than the WSOP champion (see Nside's signature for additional info). I like the guy and want to see him do well, even though he's not playing a full schedule of events and may well have other priorities that hold back his poker to some degree.

Yeah, the game has gotten much stronger online. He might be playing low because he loses too much at higher limits. Benyamine and Galfond have had pretty bad runs from time to time too. Good for him, and I hope he gets another chance at a TV table sometime.

I think Pie is merely saying if he is playing lower because of BR management or whatever he could just say that. It seems unlikey that he is trying out new strategies at 50NL when a "bet with the best hand" strategy is probably the best approach.

Oh, I see. Poker players should always tell the truth! Hey, it worked for Jamie Gold.

Once.

I wasn't saying (or insinuating) anything other than the 'trying out new strategies' thing is probably a ruse.

I think I read that he went deep in the 10k NLHE buy-in event as well.
