MTT #1: #98771327 $5K Guaranteed $11.00 (915pmEST)

Finished 1442 / 1917 ....Had to fold on the river in 3 medium-sized pots to calling stations when obvious draws came in...got me fairly short...went out w. overpair vs. flopped quads. Yuck....just one of those MTTs. I'll review hands and post any interesting ones later.

Playing in a couple MTTs tonight (8/3/0Cool:

99921060 ($11 180sng)
98771331 ($11 $5K guaranteed)
99929359 ($22 180sng)

On a slow (vacation) dial up connection, so I may/may not make it into IRC...

Away we go!

$11 180-SNG:

Decided to take a flip vs. an all-in maniac early:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2990954

Sweetness! Versus same maniac nut:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2990959

Made it to 1st break 35/80, 3200 in chips, survived QQ<AA or else would have been top 10 in chips....

Caught a big break here: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2991270

Blehhh.....out 45th when I tried a resteal push w. SCs...of course, BB woke up w. AA and I was toast...

$11 $5K Guaranteed:

Wheee!!!! Double up early: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2991291

Made 1st break 314/984, about 5.5K, a bit above average....

Then, go card-dead in 2nd hour....no good chances to steal...tread water a bit by taking blinds...but drift down to about 15BBs...maybe look for resteal opps? Nope, I'll just get my standard push w. AK result: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2991599

Out 509th....Standard MTT fare...

$22 180-SNG:

First big hand...I think my push is OK here...villain seemed donkish w. a wide range:
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2991195

Villain here had just gotten his aces cracked by 99 when a 9 came on the river...I almost felt a bit sorry for him: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2991213

Made 1st break 23/81, about 4.1K in chips, 3.3K avg.

Went horrifically card-dead and got moved to a table of loose bigstacks...got to push-fold mode w. about 37 left....pushed and took blinds x1, split pot x1, then dodged just about every card in the deck here: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2991584

But of course, when I'm a nice favorite to get back in the game, the usual result: JJ<ATo...wheee!!!! Out 27th...so much for that "good feeling"!

#100869503 $11/$5k guaranteed

#102560628 $11/180sng:

Utter card-deadedness...Did get AQ and JJ, raised, got bad flops, had to fold after CB's...got down to 15BBs at 25/50 blinds...then:

Winning coinflips is easy: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3056826

Don't know why I even bother isolating on weak shortstacked limpers...I knew I was ahead and was OK w. him pushing preflop until the board came: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3056842

The usual push into a hornet's nest...I love pokerstars! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3056854

Out 101/180...Bleh!

#100869503 $11/$5k guaranteed:

One of those nights where nothing gets going...get dealt A4o about 8 times in the first 3 orbits...miss the couple spec hands I play...astonishingly card-dead and missing all flops I see... 636/731 @ 1st break...only 2145 in chips...about 20BBs...pitiful...

Good things come to those who wait, I guess: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3057148

Up to about 35BBs...a little more working room...but I feel completely neutered w. these small stacks...

As Yogi would say..."It's deva vu all over again!" http://www.pokerhand.org/?3057161

Now we're talking! 50BBs, 180/559...

Not sure if I played this one OK: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3057190

Out 366th on usual flip: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3057266

Why not start off the MTT by missing a flop and getting my CB called when I'm OOP? Sounds standard: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061377

Why does Stars continually hate me so much? Can I win even a small pot? Why does the turn and river always bring ugliness into my simple life? http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061415

Hooray!!! A decent pot that I win! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061501

Give a nice chunk back here...I almost reraise/pushed the flop...not sure: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061562

Hooray for double-ups! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061669

Dodged a bullet vs. a 3/3 rock: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061795

Wheeee!!!! This was huge: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061862

About 7.2K in chips at 2nd break, 321/487.

Standard...go card-dead...then push near the bubble: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3062097

Out 277th....payouts to 270th....just missed first cash...blehhhhhhhhhhh

#102765937 $22 180-player SNG

Let's flop a monstah (just got back from my Cape Cod vacation) to start and not get paid off: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061428

Another reason why it's my all-time favorite hand... http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061443

This helped...and no suckout! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061606

Wheeee......suckout time!!!! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061857

Squeak in the money...but go out on this hand...of course, SB had to complete w. AJo...bleh... http://www.pokerhand.org/?3062131

Out 15th...a min-cash but better than bubbling...it's a start...

#100869504 $5K Guaranteed

Very quiet until this: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061939

Continued very quiet...total trash hands until the next break...down to 4.2K, 278/334...in push/fold mode...I HATE IT!!!!

Relentless trash cards and no steal opps...finally push in from the BB on 2 limpers... http://www.pokerhand.org/?3062236

Standard result...and out 285/1251...

#102767582 $11 180-player SNG

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo card-dead....

Finally! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061715

Made it to 1st break 52/76, 1.9K

Oohhh....nice suckout by me!!!! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3061847

Out 26th when I pushed in BB w. A4o vs. aggro SB's raise...of course, he had KK...and no A for me...done!!!

Playing in some MTTs today:

#102806097 $11 180-player SNG:

Played this hand slow and checked turn, hoping to induce a bluff...was a little scared of seeing JJ, but he'd mostly value-bet and not shove JJ: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063503

Blind vs. blind worked out: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063602

Made 1st break at 2.5K, 50/77...

I hate going card-dead after the 1st break w. a 15-20BB stack...

Woot!!!! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063777

Here's the reward...next hand: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063783
I think that was a good fold...

Then go card-dead of course...brutally card-dead...make it to 2nd break 25/26...

Standard end to my MTTs...out 25th...wheeeeeeeeeee http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063935

#102283017 $32K Guaranteed:

I think this is a good fold early...I dunno.... http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063788

Card-dead, card-dead, card-dead....bleh....

Last hand before 1st break...hooray! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3063976
Make it at 4.7K, 419/914...

Nice pot to keep chipping up: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3064121

Big hand here in a BvB: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3064188
About 12.4K, 155/384 at 2nd break...

Always the best hand to drain your stack: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3064334

Down to 8.3K (13BBs), 234/316 (payout Top 234). Time to chip up!!!

Got a crucial walk in the BB right at the bubble...at 7.7K, 194/233 when the bubble breaks...let's get some hands!!!!

Out 206th for $35.20 in the usual fashion... http://www.pokerhand.org/?3064479

I really, really, really hate Stars sometimes...actually, most of the time.

#102965931 $11 180-player SNG:

Card dead...but this helped: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066651

First break: 2.6K, 41/74...

Took a gamble to get a healthier stack...almost broke even: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066774

Experimenting w. lines a bit w. shorterstacks...this one worked: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066827

Still shortstacked...need a double!!!

It just doesnt get much better than this to bust out about 35th: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066884

Stars is so rigged...

#102281397 $16.50 NLHE MTT:

Woot! Not sure what villain thought here: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066601

Card-dead after that, made 1st break @ 2.2K, 159/244...

Still card-dead...end up getting microstacked before I could push...out 87<T9 in 130th...

#102971905 $22 180-player SNG:

This turned out about as good as possible: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066554

Ugly, ugly hand...do i fold the turn? http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066664

Double up 2 hands later to get off life support: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066674

Another step in the right direction: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066724

1st break: 2.4K, 50/81...

Out 58th, the standard way...doesn't pay to be a big favorite, apparently: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3066846

On the roster for today:

102988824 $11 180-player SNG:

First hand: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068557
2nd hand...missed value by not being a donk!!! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068563
3rd hand...more missed value by not being a donk!!! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068566

Has to be one of my favorite hands in a while! http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068609

Card-dead...make break at 2.4K, about 45/60...

There is a reason why I can't seem to go deep...here is one example:

Double up hand: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068859

Next hand, exact same villain: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068864 WOOOT!!! Instead of vaulting to the Top 15 in chips, I'm circling the drain again...

FFS, Stars....could you let me run good for once???

Of course, get crap cards after that...

Then, get my hopes up with a major league suckout: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068952

Then, of course, go broke on a flip...standard: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3068947

Out in 33rd.....sigh....

Playing in #102283020 $32K Guaranteed:

Started uber-card-dead...down to about 2.3K at 1st break...

Doubleup hand: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3079171

Took down a nice pot vs. a loose donk w.a bigstack: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3079174

All giddy to dodge a K here: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3079179

Up to 8.8K in chips, 243/507 nearing 2nd break....

Seeing lots of flops IP vs. this guy is wildly +EV: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3079190

Made it to 2nd break: Your current position is 175 out of 404, about 12K chips...really like my table...hope it doesnt break...

So standard...once again, I need this crap to stop happening for once...BB was a tight nit...I was betting ATC here...of course, he finally gets a hand vs. me...TYVM, Stars! Mad http://www.pokerhand.org/?3079359

Down to M=7, that fun and awkward value...FFS...

Out 277th (payout to 252) on this hand... http://www.pokerhand.org/?3079398

I'm really not sure if I should have (a) pushed preflop or (b) bet/pushed the flop...at any rate, I'm just so sick of this crap happening...I'd like to hit a 14-outter for once to double-up instead of busting out time after time, regardless of whether I'm a big dog or a big favorite...

OK, I am going to go through several/many of these. But too busy right now. Things will calm down in about ten days.

Forget about the past! (Until I bring it up again) Very Happy
