So the main event prize guarantee is for 500 player stumping up 550 euros? Am I a donk or isn't there likely to be a nice overlay in this?
In any case, I'm in Cork next week 'till fri morning but if the mrs will let me stay on and come play the main event I'll be there.
(If there's a big overlay I'll be looking to buy plenty of action too if I play) |

Hmmm,
Was planning a small poker vacation around that time. Had my mind set on Riga but I'm known to change my mind easily
Ryanair to Dublin is only €100 but how do you get from Dublin to Killarney ? |

I think your best bet is to fly to either Cork or Shannon if you can as these are closer to Killarney. From there it's a hire car I think as (from memory) there's not a whole lot of public transport in that area of Ireland.
On a separate note, if you go to Riga I would avoid some of the 'exotic dancing' venues as I've heard many stories of people being badly ripped off in there. Not happened to me personally but I know people who have suffered |

I'm renting a car in Dublin with a few friends and we are driving down to Killarney (and doing some sightseeing on the way).
You can easily fly though, Ryanair flies from Dublin to Kerry, which is a 10 minute drive from Killarney. The flights are only around €30...
There shouldn't be any overlay btw, it's expected to fill up.
Anyone who's thinkin of going and who wants to meet up please PM me!
Here's some more news:
The popular €250,000 guaranteed Irish Poker Festival, which will be played in Killarney, Ireland on October 2-5, will be filmed and broadcast on Irish TV as a documentary. The Irish Poker Festival documentary will be initially broadcast on Irish TV station TG4 and later distributed to networks around the world. A web stream version will also be available on Ladbrokespoker.com for those who cannot access it from home
Over 600 European poker pros are expected to buy into the Irish Poker Festival, which will feature a €550 buy-in Main Event, as well as a €300 No Limit Hold’em Freezeout event on Saturday October 4, a €170 No Limit Freezeout tournament on Sunday October 5 and a Main Event satellite.
Ladbrokes sponsored pro Roy ‘The Boy’ Brindley made a statement regarding the filming of the Poker Festival, "Terrestrial television coverage for this event is excellent news, it is just one more reason hoards of poker players will descend on one of Ireland’s most beautiful regions in October. This will be a blend of fun and, with huge money plus European ranking points on offer, some very serious poker playing.” Brindley also highlighted another reason why the Poker Festival is so attractive for professional players: “With ranking points on offer you can expect those in the reckoning for the ‘Player of the Year’ title will hotfoot it over from London.”
Killarney is synonymous with great Irish hospitality and that’s what you are going to get. The venue itself is Ireland’s national event centre, at the heart of a vibrant hotel and leisure complex. There are 100's of tourist attractions and a great nightlife associated with Irish music and having the craic!
During the Festival, which includes two side tournament and STT’s, you will also have access to the Ladbrokes Lounge. Here you will find a games area with pool, darts and other activities to help you relax in between the poker action.
