|
|
I'm thinking of putting somwehere between 2-5 ITHers into the Stars $55 - 25k guarantee on Sunday and possibly 1-2 players into the Million. This is the tournament that starts 30min after the Million and it typically attracts a prizepool around 75k.
The number of players I put in will depend on the number of quality players interested as well as whether or not a couple of other staking deals for this Sunday go through or not.
The offer is to put up 100% of the buy-in and I'd like 75% of any profits after the buy-in is paid back. This deal is weighted toward the backer moreso than lots of other deals, but it is a freeroll for a couple of $k if someone wants to play but doesn't have the BR. If I get really decent players looking for a stake, I might drop that % a bit more in favour of the player on a one off basis.
I don't want to cause any hard feelings so if you may get offended if your not selected by me please don't apply. You can apply by PM, send me username at the sites you play so I can check your stats please.
In order to qualify you must:
- Be somone I trust to be honest with repaying stakes
- Be able to play the tournament in its entirety
- Be considered by me to be an EV player in this tourny
If you meet those criteria you still may not get selected based on the number of people interested.
I will post the selected players. I'll select the field tomorrow at about this time (6:00 EST) so if your interested PM me. Don't be shy to apply, you never know.
Questions can be posted in this thread or sent to me by PM if you prefer.

Please post or PM your usernames for the sites you play wes.
---
Also, if the terms of 75/25 do not interest players you can PM your preferred terms and I'll consider that when choosing runners.

Also, I'll consider putting 1-2 players into the Million as well. I prefer the same terms (100%, 75/25) but will consider others. Please let me know if you'd prefer one MTT or the other or both if you are going to throw your name into the hat.

I may start doing it on a semi-regular basis when I'm unable to play, so you get another chance MX. |

Taz, I'd love to play in some of the larger buy in FTP events.
I play only on FTP, and my account is "ImBetterDude". I usually play in the $10 or less fields, though have ventured into the $24 donk fields a couple times with, to be frank, not a whole lot of success.
There is a $750,000 guarantee on Sunday that I've had my eye on for months, but haven't been able to satellite into as of yet (tried twice). It's a slow structure which fits my style well, and I feel confident I could score.
A slightly less expensive tournament I'd like to play in even MORE is the MSOP Main Event; a SUPER STACK tournament that has a buy in of 1/2 that of the $750,000 Guarantee. Again, a Super Stack and slow blind structure is a very tasty combination for me, and even if you don't stake me I'm going to try and play in it.
Anyway, let me know what you think. |

Ok, my originally posted deadline has past. I'm putting wes into the $55 - 25k on sun and I may work something out with IBD.
I hope to do this more often so if anyone has advice on how to attract runners that would be +EV let me know. Maybe my terms are too lopsided or people are afraid to apply.
I was hoping to get some more experienced MTTers at ITH to be interested with the right people I think this idea could be a +EV proposition for me, but perhaps the market is just not there, or maybe I didn't give enough notice.

I'm a little rusty with the PM's, but I tried to send you one Taz. Either write me back or let me know if it wasn't received. As of now my message is chilling in the "outbox", and I don't know how to get it into the "sent" box.
Maybe I have to wait for the mailman? |

Attracting +EV runners will be the tricky part I think, I've made the money in the sunday warm up on stars but I don't consider myself +EV for big fields like these, if I can get myself into these events then someone more capable than me will probably be able to fund themselves too (I only fund my tournaments from my winnings).
More notice would probably help, this is something I'd be interested in and I only saw the thread after the deadline had past so I'm sure there are plenty of others. |

| Taz, I don't know why you're not getting more interest, but I'll guess. The people who don't have the OPR stats are afraid of the rejection. The people who do don't want to give up much of their action. |

| Toom...I think there are enough ITH'ers out there that are +EV in low buy in SNG's/tourneys but don't have the roll for the bigger events, such as myself for instance. Hopefully I'm not the only person in the forums that makes a withdrawl when he has a few hundred bucks to spare instead of fattening his online poker roll. I mean, at some point I'll be making more money and can keep my poker money online, but until then the extra money is useful for bills. |

It's not just the bankroll, I'm +EV in the lower buyin tournies I play where the field is around 300 - 500. You crank up the buyin (and usually the average skill level) and the size of the field and it's so much harder to be +EV. Not trying to say anything about your game, you may well be a good bet at whatever limit you play.
What I don't get though is why people who are really +EV in bigger payout tournies like these wouldn't already be playing them. IMO this offer is going to appeal to borderline +EV players who can't quite justify the larger buyins. |

Ok the final tally is:
badboywes into the $55
Raisindye into the $55 and the Million
ImBetterDude into the $55 - 50/50 on FTP
All funds should be sent now.
GL all,
I hope to attract more players in the future, hopefully we start out on the right foot and hit a big score tomorrow!
