I wonder how to play it? It's not very common, granted.
(Notice I was BB and got a free flop)

| We tried to figure out the Omaha equivilent. Some people voted for 5533 or 5353, which seemed to look better. |

| Since there was a 3 on the flop, does that mean I had a 55533 boat? |

| I'm not sure about this. Would the equivalent be 9753 rainbow? 5353 is not too bad of a hand in Omaha. hmmm |

In all seriousness:
????? Muck city I would think, unless you can get in cheap from the blinds, or with position. I wouldn't want to play from EP.
For a good low you need an A2 on the board, and even then you're in trouble to a 34. if a 5 or a 3 flops you're easily susceptible to higher sets.
There's almost no flop, other than one that contained a pair of 5's or 3's, or A24 that I'd be real thrilled with.
Bottom line I think this is one of those hands that can give you a lot of 2nd best hands that get you in trouble in Omaha 8, especially in the "any 4 can win, everybody in the pool" games. But even in tighter games I don't think this hand is that great. |

It beats 53o in Holdem! 5533 has to be in the top 50% of Omaha hands, while 53o has to be in the bottom 10% in Holdem. |

lol - I wouldn't be sure about that top 50% though At least not if it's rainbow.

Which definetly makes it better than it's offsuit holdem' cousin.
But then a lot of O8 hands are "around the middle of the pack". Take a hand like 27TQ rainbow. It has 45% equity in a HU situation, but gets worse as you add more hands (9 handed it's just over 6%), as opposed to 5353 which wins just about it's fair share (maybe a fraction of a % more) 9 handed. |

| Hmm, well I would have guessed top 50% (in fact I did!). Shows you how much I know about Omaha. |

According to Bill Boston's O8 starting hand charts, 3355 ranks from 1697/5278 if double suited (very slight +EV) to 2042/5278 if non-suited (slightly -EV).
3555 is -EV whether suited or not, with rankings in the 4000+ range |
