Can someone help me figure out that lets say I have a pocket pair (3, 3) and I make a large bet and everyone folds except for one person who calls? Assuming that he does not have a pocket pair, what are the odds that he will pair one of his cards on the flop? Thank you for any help.

You'd be better off posting this in the 'Probabilities and Pot Odds' forum.

I'm sure Bull will move it...

Oh and the answer to your question...

Say your opponent holds AK, then there are 6 cards out of the remaining 48 (removing your cards and his since these are known) that give him a pair.

So then probability of him flopping a pair is 6/48 x 3 or a little over 37%

It is not a spam account irish.

Many experienced players know how to do the calculations but they memorize certain numbers to help them quickly when needed. A common number to remember is that a single player will miss the flop approximately 1/3 of the time. Now that player might have a premium hand already and not need help from the flop but you can learn how to calculate it from irish's example or just remember the number.

Isn't it that a single player will HIT the flop 1/3rd of the time?

Hey Kris, why don't you use your SPAM software to calculate those odds?

It doesn't work?
