| Can someone help me figure out that lets say I have a pocket pair (3, 3) and I make a large bet and everyone folds except for one person who calls? Assuming that he does not have a pocket pair, what are the odds that he will pair one of his cards on the flop? Thank you for any help. |

You'd be better off posting this in the 'Probabilities and Pot Odds' forum.
I'm sure Bull will move it... |

Oh and the answer to your question...
Say your opponent holds AK, then there are 6 cards out of the remaining 48 (removing your cards and his since these are known) that give him a pair.
So then probability of him flopping a pair is 6/48 x 3 or a little over 37% |

It is not a spam account irish.
Many experienced players know how to do the calculations but they memorize certain numbers to help them quickly when needed. A common number to remember is that a single player will miss the flop approximately 1/3 of the time. Now that player might have a premium hand already and not need help from the flop but you can learn how to calculate it from irish's example or just remember the number.

Isn't it that a single player will HIT the flop 1/3rd of the time? |

Hey Kris, why don't you use your SPAM software to calculate those odds?
It doesn't work? |
