Hi!
I came accross this community while I was looking for a definition of "cold call preflop". I'm a very low limit amateur player, but still able to make some $ per hours...
Anyway I'm a programmer before I'm a poker player so you'll hear more about me in the Poker Software subforum.
If you didn't find the answer you were looking for, a cold call preflop is when a player calls a raise and a call ahead of him with no money already invested in the pot. This can also be the same for calling in a pot where it has been raised and re-raised before the action gets to you and you're not in the blinds
For example, if a player in early position raises to $60 preflop when the blinds are $10/20 and a player in middle position calls, a player in late position who calls and isn't in the blinds is 'cold calling' preflop.
