| Not sure how this affects many of us one way or the other. It's basically saying that Harrah's won't let online poker sites put their names on the felt on the WSOP tables this year. Which means you won't see the Party Poker logo everytime they show a flop on TV like you used to. |

Actually that is not what the article is saying.
| Harrah's via Pokernews wrote: | | "As a gaming company licensed in more than a dozen jurisdictions in the United States and abroad, Harrah's must follow the guidance of federal law and state gaming regulations in conducting its business. In this regard, the 2007 World Series of Poker venue will not contain advertising from dot.com sties that allow access to US residents nor ads from dot.net sites affiliated with those entities...." |
Since Party Poker does not allow access to US residents, they would be within their rights and within the parameters that Harrah's is setting to advertise without breaking US laws.
Now a site like Bodog or Poker Stars, who continue to cater to Americans, would not be allowed to advertise through the WSOP and Harrah's. |

| Anyone want to bet that Harrahs didn't come up with this idea by themselves? |

Freedom of speech, and all other Bill of Rights things, are for limiting the actions of the FEDERAL GOVT.
I hear this all the time, but Harrahs is free to have a dress code. |

As a protest to this, I recommend as many poker players as possible turning up to the world series in customised t-shirts saying things of highly dubious nature such as:
"Honk if you are a child molester", "I hate gays" or "it's better at the Bellagio"
Maybe this will make them realise how idiotic this policy is. |

From the linked article:
| Quote: | | In fact, we expect to post the 2007 WSOP rules and registration procedures on worldseriesofpoker.com next week that will contain a new logo policy allowing players to wear apparel with dot.net logos as well as multiple and larger logos. |

If I read my Poker Player Newspaper correctly, Harrahs is now banning both .COM and .NET gear at the 2007 WSOP. Hopefully protest gear will take up the slack.
LEGALIZE POKER!!
CRIMINALIZE NEGLIGENT AND MALICIOUS LAWMAKING!! |
