Hiya. I'm a relative new-comer to Texas Hold 'Em. I've been playing in live cash games and tournaments for one year. Haven't played on-line as my only computer access has been at work.

I've been playing primarily in tournaments for the past four months, trying to build my skills. I started off as Super Rock; if I raised even a little bit, people would fold all around the table. I was learning to capitalize on that, but I had no follow-through. Continuation bets were a foreign concept to me, and bluffing was way beyond my capacity.

Lately, I've started hitting a stride. My confidence in my game has improved, my playing has apparently improved and I'm feeling comfortable that I can sit at most home/casual tables and not embarrass myself.

Anyway, wanting to discuss poker with people (obviously) and haven't been able to find someone in my leagues who is willing to have game-improving talks. So here I am.

Welcome to ITH! You'll find a number of people willing to talk about poker as much as you can stand here.

Hello Kaltros,
I'm new to this website, but not to on-line poker. been playing for 3 years.
am afraid to loose real money so use "play" chips as if they are real.
I's lots of fun, I experience the same problems you are having. Most difficult is to turn off the computer and leave the poker rooms!
Look forward to listening to everyone's wisdom.
Later.....StrikingEagle

Thanks for the welcome, gentle-beings.

Nside: neat name. Just got it. (I'm a little slow)

StrikingEagle: Shutting off the computer isn't too challenging for me yet. I fear that may change soon. But I prefer live games to on-line play, primarily because I started with live games. The social aspect is way more fun in person.

Greetings Kaltros and StrikingEagle!

As Nside said Kaltros, you have found yourself a great community here where you should have more than enough people willing to discuss the various aspects of the game with you.

And StrikingEagle... you and me both! My main problem was (still working on it actually) spending too much time playing online and not enough time educating myself on the game. But I have gotten a little better and continue to work on my discipline in that area. Pray

See you two on the boards. Very Happy
