Great article Mr. Pie.
I am Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in this since. I am about 75% a gamer and 25% a gambler.
I like puzzles and solving problems and at my job I am very good at solving problems. At poker not so good. I love chess and used to be good. I am sure that I could solve this problem but not necessarily in 10 minutes because I have aged. I did the first 3 levels convinced myself that I could solve it and put it aside for later.
When I am on a rush and have tons of chips then Mr Hyde comes alive and I start to gamble more that I should or normally do - those nights I take $800-$1000 from the table - few and far in between.
My problem raises when I am the gamer on a table full of gamblers. I don't do well. They love to burn chips, splash the pot, gamble it up with live raises, and love to crack big pairs for fun; they often drink and play.
Interesting article and something to ponder about the psychology of poker players; well done.
In 1973 there was no internet. I solved this problem by writing a computer program in Fortran to learn the language and to solve the problem - gamer. I wanted to find all the possible solutions not just one.
