Thanx for posting this. It often is a puzzle for me too, so here are my thoughts. I have six outs to top pair but some of those might be counterfeited by villains holding. I think I am laying this down on the flop though I am not quite sure because it may be the case that capping PF means you are calling the flop raise. Would like help on that point for sure. In that case I am out on the turn. I stand corrected if this off track and hope to hear from the better players.

Fold the turn. You are not getting the odds here anymore.

I'm a bit unsure about the flop after being raised, but I don't think you can fold, the odds should be too favorable to do that.

i disagree with ohjay.
I check call the turn and fold the river, although i have a problem at the moment of not calling enough on the river with AK.

Depends on the villain's tendencies and the board whether you give up on the turn or river (or at all). I'm never folding to the flop raise HU. I don't think you lose anything by folding the turn against Mr Average here.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies. I half expected to get scorned for posting this one (thought I was being particularly spewish), but the I remembered which forum this is and realized that even if I played it badly and received criticism, it would be constructive.

So the turn or the river it seems like... does it change anyone's opinion if the turn is a blank such as 3 of Hearts ?

I don't see that makes much difference; he's unlikely to be holding a 9 anyway (unless he's got two of them).

I would call down here. It was capped pre-flop and it is a 10 high board. This is a WA/WB situation to me. You beat alot hands that 3-bet and you lose to some hands that 3-bet. So I like this call down. However if the Villian is passive you could fold the river.

I do believe it means:

"Way Ahead/ Way Behind"

Confused now if I can only figure this out when I'm playing. Laughing

Yes, it means way ahead/way behind. This describes a situation in which, if you're ahead, your opponent has very few outs while, if you're behind, you have very few outs (and you're not sure whether you're ahead or behind). The classic scenario would be where you hold, say, AQ and the flop is Q plus a pair, rainbow. The villain calls your c-bet, but does he have a worse Q (in which case you are way ahead: the villain has 3 outs) or trips (in which case you are way behind: you have 2 outs)?

I believe the 'standard' way to proceed in such situations is conservatively. If you're OOP, check/call the turn and bet the river if he checks behind. If you have position, call if the villain bets, bet if he checks and fold to a check/raise if he's reasonable.

This isn't a true WA/WB situation because there are several draws on the flop and you don't actually have a hand.
