| I am having terrible troublefinding flights to Atlantic City. The only flights I can find from the UK are hideously expensive and involve changing in France(?!). What airlines actually fly to AC? Are there any other airports nearby worth flying to and getting some kind of transfer? |

| Any time I have gone to AC I flew to Phillidelphia and then drove down...I think that is the closest airport, but there might be another one close. |

I would look into Philidelphia first and then possibly Newark. I know there is a transfer from Philly to AC via the train and I am sure there are more options.
I'm not flying directly into AC either and for many of the same reasons. Although, my travel wouldn't take me through France |

What part exactly?
I saw that Delta fly there, but when I went to their website and tried to get a flight from London, it drew a lank. If it is close to Philly, maybe I will try to go there and get a train. |

The drive is around 11/2 hours give or take from either Philly or Newark and depends on traffic conditions.
I will be flying into Newark. Continental Airlines has a hub there and the rates are reasonable from many places. |

| Looks like I can get a train to AC from Philly for $8 which is spiffy. Only problem is that I assume the train station is nowhere near the airport. |

I was quoted about $2k to fly to AC and $500 to fly to Phili.
If I am able to go I'll be flying to Phili and cabbing or taking the train to AC.
If the train station is a ways from the airport taxis will be the way to go. |

I found this on the flyertalk forum, because I was considering flying to PHL and train-ing to ACY, if I can free up enough time to even attend.
| Quote: | | If you are taking the SEPTA R1 from Center City Philly into PHL, the cost is $6 if you buy at the station and $7 if you buy on board the train |
So it looks like you can fly to PHL, which should be quite easy from LGW or LHR, take the R1 train from the airport to the 30th Street Station in Philly, then NJTransit train from there to ACY.
We need a Philly local (LJD?) to confirm that.
As it stands, I can probably drive it in 9 hours, so all the hassle of flying/transferring won't be worth it. |

| There was talk in another thread of people carpooling it from Philly, too. I don't know exactly what my plans are at the moment, but I expect to be getting a car in Philly and driving. Once I find out for sure, I'll post the details and see if I can take a passenger or two. |

I'm a Philly local (South Jersey, all the same, really) and that sounds right but I've never taken the R1 so I can't confirm 100%. There are always cabs there too, but they're probably more expensive than the train. |
