Finally!!

My SNG bad streak has been no secret around IRC. Down to my final $13 after losing $150 chasing a $50 bonus, I decided to play WCOOP steps.

I joined up two $7.50 Step 1's, and proceeded to win both. Great. On to step 2. First one I took a wicked 4 card flush beating, and was out - and told myself "great, here we go again." I decided to play my 2nd step 2 entry immediately after this, and cruised through it and made it to step 3.

Step 3 got a little bit hairy. With 4 left and 2 seats to move on, I find myself holding AKs and with about 11BB's left, and a raiser to my right. Easy push, right? Well I pushed and my heart sunk a bit as the guy to my left insta called, as did the original raiser. They turned over QQ and TT and I had a chance. The flop came Axx turn K, and my hand held. I had a huge stack after that and quickly and uneventfully moved on to step 4.

I had planned on waiting at least a month to play my step 4 ($215, and my biggest online buyin to date), but despite my recent losses, I knew I had been playing some of the best poker that I've ever played, and decided this afternoon, it was go time.

I'm a turbo player so this slow structure was like a slow torture to me, but I kept cool and just played my game. I started out tight and noticed that they were folding to any raise I made in level 3, which allowed me to chip up pretty well. Then comes the big hand. I hold 56o in the bb, and its limped to me. I check. Flop Td5s6s. I lead out with a near potsize bet and only 1 caller. His reluctant call made me think he was on a spade draw. The turn was 8c, which was about as good as I could hope for for what i was putting him on, and put him all in. he insta called with KQs, and the river was Ac and just like that I was 2nd in chips.

Nothing really happened until we were "itm" 4th=$210, 1-3rd=$530 wcoop seats. The guy to my right had constantly been attacking my blinds, and I had lost a fair portion of my stack while going card dead, so when i was dealt A8o, i said if he pushes again, I am calling. Obv, he pushes and I insta call and he shows 9Ts, flop KK8, and I hold on and double up again. 2 hands later I get in a huge hand with AQo and chop with AQs. Then the next hand, shorty pushes and I hold AKo and call. he shows K3, we flop a K, but no 3 comes to save him!!

And with $0.97 left in my br, I win a $530 WCOOP seat, and cleared my stupid bonus at the same time WOOOHOOO.
