On the surface it looks good but the US is notorious for ignoring world opinion. When all this started I really thought it would be short term and the US would open up again when there were US owned on-line sites ready to go. The cynic in me still believes that was part of the impetus for the ban but it may be it's just the middle-America puritan streak that's behind it.
In either case, I don't see the US giving into to a EU push unless there is are hefty consequences to US business.

I might be more optimistic? I think it was easy for the US to ignore a small group of islands in the Caribbean and an occasional Latin American country who collectively are only a blip on the US' trading and free market economy.
The EU, however, has teeth with regards to being able to hit the US in the pocket book. I think the US would have to confront this better than they did Antigua.
However, it may still be a few years away considering they are in the "drafting" stage of the complaint.
