I've been watching tonight, and so far:
1. Jamie Gold is the biggest luck box I have seen in quite a while. When he plays trash he hits big, and when he plays good cards, the opponents always seen to have a good 2nd best hand. No doubt he will go on to win.
2. Erik Friberg is a Swede with an Indian accent. Weird.
3. They are taking questions over the internet, and they answered mine early in the broadcast: "Will the announcers cool the talking so we can hear the players?"
4. This form of broadcast is just as exciting as the Norm Chad version with the hole cams.
I recommend everybody download this when it gets posted on the internet. Good stuff.
Jamie Gold played quite well compared to some of the others at the table. Worst play so far is Richard Lee blowing his 2nd chip lead away on JJ vs Jamies QQ.
Here is the log from cardplayer:
122. Jamie Gold calls from the cutoff and Richard Lee raises from the small blind to $1,200,000. Gold reraises to $4,000,000 and Lee moves all in. Gold immediately calls and shows QQ. Lee turns over JJ and will need to improve. The board comes KK3610 and Richard Lee has been eliminated from the tournament in 6th place.
---
What the log does not show is that Jamie Gold shacked while check-raising to 4 million, and that he has done this exact move with QQ earlier...Lee made a big mistake pushing back at that with two really shotstacked players at the table.
