|
|
Anyone else had an email from Neteller asking you to send either a scanned copy or a digital photograph of your passport and a utility bill?
I've had one and immediately figured it was some form of ID theft scam. I've spoken to someone from Neteller in their Live Chat support function who says its a legit request, but I'm still not happy about sending this information.
If someone tells me how I'll post an image of the email |

Create an account here: Photobucket or any other image hosting site.
Upload a picture to the site (Follow the instructions).
Copy the link they will provide for IMG Code.
Paste it in your post.
Voilą!
[Edit]
I just realized it's a copy of an email you want to do. Just click in your email, do CTRL-A to select everything. When everything is selected do CTRL-C to copy to the clipboard. Go in your post and do a CTRL-V to paste. |

It's on of those html emails (I think - not that techy) so the old copy and paste lark won't work I don't think.
I'll post the image later using bucket |

I got an email from them too, was suspicious myself so got onto neteller live chat and asked about it.
They knew about the email and said yeah its something we'll have to do for verification. |

| I didn't get this email but my Neteller account is already verified in this way so I guess that's no surprise. |

Also got the email. Not happy about it, but I figure it may be more hassle withdrawing from my poker sites if I don't do it. |

First Name: Christopher
Last Name: Scullard
Email Address:
Account Number/ID: 45 **********
Country: United Kingdom
Language: English
Phone: +44 ***********
Question Type: General enquiry
Question: I have received an email, apparantly from Neteller, asking me to send a scanned copy of my passport and a utility bill in order to validate my account.
As you can imagine this seems unusual and I am concerned that this may be an identity theft scam. If this is not the case please confirm by email, referring to this correspondence.
If it is a scam I am quite happy to forward the email to you
Thanks
Chris Scullard
It seems it is genuine, but it's probably worth sending a similar email as you may not need to do anything |
