Man, internet is down in the guest rooms, so had to come to starsbucks for internet. What would happen if the internet went down worldwide? Life would end as we know it.
My table, 4 pros, plus myself. We busted 7-8 players I think throughout the day. I was jeoulous most of the day until my big double up with four hands remaining.
Robert Mizrachi, Joshua T (won a bracelet), a very good player in a wheel chair from France sponsored by stars (don't know his name), and a solid online pro were all at my table.
In deep stack tourneys, postflop "luck" is so much more important than preflop "luck". I think I had my worst day of starting cards ever in a live event. No pocket pairs above 99 the entire day! I did get 22 four times I think . So I was relatively quiet and playing a pretty tight game most of the day.
A few key hands...
BBB - big beautiful bluff. Everyone who has followed me every year in the WSOP knows that every now and then I will get very creative, and end up putting myself in some tricky situations. Sometimes I look brilliant and sometimes I donk off my chips.
EM raiser, middle caller, I call in co with 8c 7c. Flop is Ah 9h 9x. Raiser bets 1100, MP calls (Joshua T), and of course, I raise to 3700. MP calls. The turn is a small heart (I was planning on betting any non-heart board card). Check check. The river is an A. Check, I bet 4,100 (villian has about 10K left). He tanks and then folds. I show the table. I almost never show my hands, but I playing pretty tight and nitty, so I thought I would put out a little different image to maybe hopefully capitalize on later (maybe this benefitted me on Mizrachi hand).
I raise UTG, next player calls (laggy), and Mizrachi calls. Flop is Q75. I bet, laggy calls, mizrachi raises, I fold. Stay out of trouble on this one.
Double-up. Mizrachi raises early, two callers, I call in BB with KTs. Kk3 flop. I bet 2K, mizrachi calls. Crap - what am I going to do now?! I don't want to lose 10K on one of the last hands of the night! Boom! T on the turn. I bet 6,000. Mizrachi calls. River is a 7. I bet 11, he raises to 27k, i go allin, he calls 33. I think he overplayed his hand on the river there. At the very least, I think he could save 10K and fold my final all-in.

Do you remember playing with him at the FT of the $1500 event from 2006?

This is the hand you had AQ on from your tweets correct? Good laydown imo.

I'm guessing he put Kx into your range there, maybe a couple bluffs too after you showed your bluff on the double paired board earlier. Nice hand though. |

I recognized him, but didn't know from where. Was he at my table with 53 hand?

I don't think so, I think he was on the other table but I can't be 100% sure. When you made that play, I remember 3-4 of the players that were sitting at the tbale but not him. I do remember wondering how such a young looking kid could make a FT though back when it didn;t happen nearly as often.
I looked him up on PTR and he plays 100/200 200/400 and 500/1000 HU NL and PLO online. He's >5M in profits on there. Obviously a solid kid. He also coaches through PokerNews. |

| nice catch with the T - certainly saved you a lot of chips and then made you a lot on top. Weird for him to wait until the river to stick the raise in there but tough for him to lose less. |

If he thinks Matthew might be repping a K, or have a K he might let Matthew keep betting. The board isn't too scary for him and Matthew can't catch many cards to over take his boat. |

He doesn't know how I play, but if I have KJ on the river and he raises, I fold. KQ i would think about it. AK, I'm obviously calling. And I would never 3-bet river with less than boat in this spot. Maybe he didn't overplay it that much, but he has to balance what I would call with vs what I would RR with.
