Hi ITH,

my name is Uemit, i'm writing from Augsburg in Germany. I'm studying business at the university of Augsburg and have to write my diploma thesis with a friend about Texas Hold'em Poker in the tournament mode. We are really big poker fans, and you can earn a lot of money with poker...Wink
But for our thesis we need some Data, and i thought that maybe someone of you can help us.
We need the whole Datas of 10 players who played about 50 tournaments with always the same players.
It is important for our thesis, because we have to analize if it is possible to combeat the chance with strategy.
With the Data sent to us, we will make statistical tests.
So please, if there is the possibility of someone to send us the whole Data of 50 tournaments played with always the same 10 players, do this!
Of course we will tell you our findings.
Thanks for reading, I'm hopefully waiting for your answer.

Best regards
Uemit Koeroglu

Welcome to ITH mastatiger.

A couple of things I'd like to point out to hopefully help you in your thesis. If your looking for 10 player tournaments these are usually calle Single Table Tournament. Multiple table tournaments have anywhere from 21 to 10,000 players in them.

Also, it will be impossible for anyone to provide stats for 50 tournaments against exactly the same 10 players without organziing some kind of group that plays together. It is the nature of how the sign-up process works and how many players there are online at any given site.

I also think that you'll find 50 tournaments is not nearly enough to prove the statistical significance of the skill vs luck debate.

I wish you luck, but perhaps the points I have mentioned will help you refine your focus or approach to the problem.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
